I was starting a while back to create a membership site but i decided to scrap it and build up a guru status by making a blog and a using an email list. I am also going to take the 30DC+ method of product creation after i get a subscriber base. How can I get the beginning influx of people that like the blog. Are there any guides or steps to take to become a guru. I heard something about being mentioned by another guru, you'll immediately gain "guru" status. Are there any worthy guides to making a successful blog? This is what i've got so far:

Code:
www.healthflair.com

Thanks

Hi,

well, I checked out your blog, and here are a few tips...

1) Start posting. Make sure those posts are interesting, relevant, and keyword
optimized so that they'll be found.

2) Once you have a few posts, start writing some Ezine articles about related topics
and send people over to your blog to build up a viewership.

3) Also build a Twitter account, put the link to your blog into your profile, and start
tweeting (but no spam). Give a couple of tips a day, and post a link to your blog
every now and then, with the name of your newest post. And also to your Ezine
articles.

4) Find some forums in your niche and start contributing etc.

5) Create an ethical bribe (i.e., a special report on something your potential readers
REALLY want to know about) and build a squeeze page, then offer them this report
in exchange for their email address, and build a list.

I think you get the idea. Do this, and the next thing you know, you'll have followers
and will be on your way to becoming a guru!

Hope this isn't too traditional for BHF ;-)

thanks, most of the blackhat stuff i've been doing has been hit or miss. I wanted to try my hand at a more steady approach.
