Make the 30 characters rule not count for some people?

I understand this rule was probably set in place to control the masses, but maybe higher status people on the forum could be an exception to the rule. Maybe trying that out with the Mods and Admins and then onto the Ex VIP. I don't know how hard or how easy is this to implement though but it's just a thought.

Sorry, it's not possible to do that. It only implements board-wide.
