web scraping is a profitable legitimate way to make good money online
you can think of it as a free marketing service if you are a programmer or cheap but strong hack if you are not
you can generate a list of leads(potential clients) from your niche and sell them your products
you can also make your products known to many targeted people
as a web scrapper you can sell your services also so you can double your income

Do you do it yourself?

What I can tell you from my 5+ years of experience with web scraping/web crawling is that the average price per lead is $0,10. That's what most companies are willing to pay.

Now, one can make an uneducated guess that if you can scrape 100,000 emails that equals $10,000 this week and you can go to the Bunny Ranch in Texas.

Well, one would be wrong.

A lot of the companies that buy leads today are vetting those emails like crazy.
Sure, they will pay $10 for a list of 100 "potential leads".

But once they see the emails are trash, they won't pay you more.

Linkedin is a great source to scrape leads, but you need an awesome connections list. I really mean awesome. Having 50 connections won't cut it.

Secondly, you have to realize that web crawling doesn't begin and end with leads.

Learn to sell data.
It has more value than leads.

I earn more than $60,000 per year from one job I got from an Upwork client.
People with no coding skills will treat you like gold once they realize they can have you build a tool to scrape ANYTHING they want.

Think real estate, NFL tickets, luxury products, research studies, LinkedIn former company employees, etc, you name it.
Big companies have big use for these types of data. Paying $30/hour for them is nothing when they look at the bigger picture.
