Hi, i found a very low competive weightloss keyword in germany. it has 6600 searches per month. is only 1 word and google shows only 50.000 hits. Most are Forum entrys with no backlinks to them... i registered .net but i could register .info and .org too...should i do 3 Websites or isnt it worth...with 6600 searches per month to do 3 websites? greetings Gnu
when i buy to many domains or make to many blogs, i normally focus on one and forget the rest... but that's just me... if its really that good of a keyword and you think you can can make three nice sites go ahead.. but you may want to think about just buying one and making a tone of free squiddo or hubpages or something...
generally it is better to do one site and focus on that. having one site with 100 pages is better than 3 sites with 33 pages each.
I have to agree with the other posters. In the past I've seen this kind of opportunity, gotten excited and bought more than one domain. It just ends up heading nowhere... Now I will focus my attention and cash on one domain - on first getting that fully built and then fully promoted.
I think for this amount of searches per month you'd do fine with just one website and regularly updating that site. When I do multiple sites about something, it's not targeting the same keyword. It's targeting the same niche. So for instance I have three weight loss sites right now targeting different keyphrases and/or products within the weight loss category. Each to my mind was worth building its own site around and it turns out many months later that this was the right way to go. Instead of trying to get traffic on just every weight loss keyword my sites are very targeted and the traffic and sales conversions are great. So don't rule out doing multiple sites within a niche or sub-niche - but for the example you've quoted I think you'll do fine with just one site. Dan
