As a consultant I would say the best way outside looking for employment, are consulting gigs. The best way to get those gigs is to show value. In your niche, post daily with the aim of showing how you solve problems for potential clients. Avoid the like baiting trap of posting stuff that is not related to what you do so that you get likes. 10 likes on a post where you demonstrate your expertise is better than 100 likes on a post about a Bible verse or whatever. Showing expertise in your field using your posts gets you consulting and job offers in your DMs.

Depends on your sub-niche within AI. Companies for example are going nuts with automation and workplace enhancements around AI. For example, companies would like to use AI for Customer Service (chatbots etc) so as to reduce physical headcounts in their call centers/frontlines. Research around your niche and you will see there is plenty to go at.
