Well, couldn't we get a number, then have the number it forwards to forward back to the brring number thus creating a circle? Then use it for telemarketers, online sign ups, in store "contests" etc... maybe the relatives you don't REALLY want to hear from but feel obligated to give your "new" number to.. ( since ya changed it to get them to not call you) - or err. maybe that is just me. :D

good for ewhoring /escort leads too. or, get a local and have it forward to your phonesex account. I think that is what I will do with mine. now I wont have to pay for a number in a city, just have it bounce instead.
 
Did the Brring idea fall out? Just curious if they're 1) still paying and 2) if anyone's made any real cash-money out of it?

After reading this whole post - everyone's came up with some good ideas that can be used in other marketing realms...
 
1) No the assholes dont pay 2)some did at the beginning.
This still works for telemarketers, craigslist posting, things you need a fake number for. I also use it to have my friends in other states call me for free. I set up a number in cali - my buddy calls local number- forwards to me in NY, free long distance.

The thought of having to search for payphones, or hotel courtesy phones induced me to dig a bit into searching online for free or really cheap inbound phone service. Here it is...Yahoo PhoneIn Service...$2.49 per month with annual membership or $2.99 per month with no committment. Just go to Yahoo Voice, click on PhoneIn and signup. This seems much easier than running around town.:D

damn this is an old ass thread! i remember this from last year i think its going to be up for a while again... as now bhw has tons more ppl thus more ppl who haven't see this.
