Ok so most of you do the youtube stuff with your url watermarked all over it and yes this does still bring traffic in especially with adult or sexy videos and music videos.

But how about you use limewire or something and download as many mp3s as possible to your favorite celebrity singer.

For example lets say i download all of someone popular like Oasis. Now if i download all there music and keep them in one directory and load up my favorite music edit (i play with mac a lot so id recommend garageband) and at the end of each song talk into your mic saying. (Theres bound to be good windows alternatives)

For more music, screensavers, wallpapers and Oasis information please come visit us at http://www.myoasisfansite.com or some bullshit like that, now you build this site with ads and screensavers bundled with your favorite stuff (not gonna mention ppi you go there for it on my sig)

Now eventually do this to all your Oasis mp3s, then drop them back in your share folder and start sharing. And go build a new celebrity site.

This will work with any musician but its always best targeting the latest trend of music and whos pretty hot right now.

Just remember to tag them at the start or end of the mp3 with your url and things like that.

Your traffic will slowly build but itll get your url around, and most people who are downloading will love that music so you can have related amazon ads, ebay and other such things.

Untapped market really doing it this way. I know of people who tag there mp3s like oasis-supersonic-(http://www.something.com).mp3 but thats just not as effective no more.

So theres your twist :) Enjoy

Great post HaRRo,

Never thought of this
played around with P2P but this is pretty fresh!

Ill put money on the sec they listen to the mp3 they will want to visit your site.
This will also work virally, maybe friends will listen to the mp3 when visiting the downloaders house, they could send it via bluetooth to there mobile as ringtone. They could burn cds, and it could get pretty heard anywhere :D

This would definately work a lot f the rap I download has had this done to it. At the end of the song some guy comes on and says 'hit up tackfees.net for exclusive sound kits for producers' I never really listen so that's prbly not the right url. But this is being done and definateoy works.

nice, simple idea - like you say, probably very effective too.

But wouldn't you be identifying yourself as an illegal file-sharer by assigning url's etc to a file...

Exactly, this is a brilliant idea, but the way I see it your practically advertising yourself as a illegal file-sharer, and telling the MPAA exactly how to find you.

Even if you have a WhoIS guard, the government can always contact your provider and find out where you live. So this is very dangerous, and should not be done in the US or with a US registrar.

If you disagree though, do feel free to tell me why...

Thats why you put it at the end :D

Wait so Harro, what do you think about the legality aspect of it. Do you think I'm right or not.

How do you go about it?

sounds like your painting yourself as a target for RIAA

A good way to get that little extra traffic is...

On the title of the MP3 put your websites name like Eminem: Superman - www.yoursite.com

This way when people play the mp3 and are on MSN on the same time, it will show your websites name to all their contacts if they have the show what im listening to turned on.

Ty for sharing :) just to throw my 2cents in hehe.. The fan site could also include a "program" that let's you listen to the full album on your websites server.. Naturally the exe file downloaded would be bound to you ppi file

actually, I'm doing something kind of like that with torrents. I'll post my method once it is fully developed.

this is a good idea, but you need to keep your url simple so people can remember what to type.

It'll work only for real music fans - overnight music listeners will not bother to go to your site .. they will delete your song and try to find a clean one !
That's the same what I did a few months ago - I took 200 songs and renamed them to songmaniac.com ( Author - Title ) and got like 100 visitors per day. It may sound cool but I ended up with 0.00$ in my hands ( no clicks ).

Sounds like a good concern.

Harro, I too am concerned about this.

What are the odds of "THEM" catching you?

Thanks.

Good idea but nothing really new, been doing that with porns for years ago, only concern when you sharing Mp3 on networks like Limewire is that the "blueberry" might will bust you for that depending the country you are located....

Nice one, this gives one opportunities for an untapped niche, of one finds the right artist :)
