Well learning both design and coding takes years and espesially when it comes to design i consider it more of a gift/talent than something that you can learn.Hiring a team is the right way to go(atleast from my experince) but you should be prepare for a lot of trial and error before you really have the right people who can execute the job properly.Hiring a few cheap freelaners wont cut it when it comes to premium themes,an office with a few experienced people who get paid well above average(after all if you want premium you have to pay for premium) is the right way to go

Interesting but a few concerns as others have stated:

it's not that easy to get approved into themeforest
how will you offer support assuming you aren't an expert
updating your theme for new versions? I guess you could go back to the freelancer
quality of the theme
lots of competition from actual theme makers

It has some good advise though thanks for sharing but I won't be touching this.

What kind of features/plugins you offer in your themes? how long time it takes to create a theme?
