Today I am going to give you an idea how to earn money on fiverr with next to none coding skills.

What is our gig going to be? Well, we are gonna "convert" websites to mobile apps.

Why? Because it requires minimum coding skills to make a blank app with a webview.

For iOS apps, I was using Swift and for Android apps I was using Kotlin. You can do it in any technology you are familiar with, since making a blank app with a webview is really easy.

So, here are the steps:

1. Create a gig offering conversion of website to mobile app.
2. Invest some time into making a really appealing thumbnail.
3. Split your gig into 3 packages.
- First package is just an apk or ipa file
- Second package includes publishing app to the app store or play store
- Third package includes all of the above, but for both ios and android
4. Add as many gig extras as you can. That means also adding another system, posting to store, etc as gig extras. People will usually go for the full package and still pick these things from gig extras, resulting in you getting more money for the same thing.
5. Now that you have set up a gig, head over to facebook.
6. Join as many buy/sell and service offering groups.
7. Post a link to your gig once a day to each of these groups. You can also find some other way to promote, but I was doing it like this.
8. When you get your first potential customer, always ask for the website before they order your gig.
9. Paste the url in your blank app with a webview(shich you should already have set up) and see how it looks like in simulator. The whole point of this is making your "app" once and just changing the url for each new order.
10. If it looks good, tell your potential customer that the website is compatible with conversion method you are using and that they can order now.
11. Pay attention to be extremely professional when communicating, since your rating will depend on it and you need 5 star ratings badly.
12. For a first few customers you can do some minor things for free. Lets say you have added making an app icon as a gig extra for $5, well, offer to do that gig extra as a bonus for already purchased gig. That will make them more likely to leave 5 star rating.
13. Oh yes, remember to put a cheap price, since you are just starting.

Keep in mind that fiverr takes 20% from both buyer and seller, meaning if you make a $5 gig, buyer will have to pay $6 and you will get $4.

I earned $235 from five orders(average $47 per order), but after 20% commission I was left with $188. That was my first month. It is not much money, but it took maybe 3h of work total, most of which went to communicating with clients.

What are those "mimimum" coding skills? May be it's just minimum from your point of view. I've been messing with coding here and there a few years now but the best thing I can do is linking an image in HTML.

How do you publish the converted app to apple store ? or were you able to publish any converted app to apple store?
I did this kind of work for one client. Google store published the app with no problem but not apple store.
heres the query apple raised :
Guideline 4.2 - Design - Minimum Functionality Your app provides a limited user experience as it is not sufficiently different from a mobile browsing experience. As such, the experience it provides is similar to the general experience of using Safari. Including iOS features such as push notifications, Core Location, and sharing do not provide a robust enough experience to be appropriate for the App Store.

Long story short apple don't want mobile website like app. It wants app with lot of native functionality and user experience. You need to build apple store app from scratch not convert your website to app.

The last sentence made me chuckle, there is so much truth in that- you spend so much time pampering your clients that you end up doing little actual work. Reminds me of company meetings.

I had no such problems with these 5 apps. Just make sure you do constraints right, so it scales properly for all screen sizes. You can also add a splash screen and make some sort of "home page" with a button to transfer you to webview. Sadly, cant add that to the steps anymore, edit is not there.

Ok, did you successfully published to apple store?

Great sharing. Where do you publish the apps in Google Play Store? In your account, or costumer account?

You can decide on that with the customer. If they buy full package, I publish it using my account by default.

You should very carefull then. I have been banned from playstore because publishing webview app.

And if you can't control the web content, it will harm your playstore account too.

Good luck.

calling BS on this, IOS store standards are very strict and will not allow shady webview apps.

If OP can post the IOS apps I will believe it, otherwise this is as real as bigfoot running for mayor in New york!

Yes, I told you I had no problems with these 5 apps. Published all of them.
So all 5 clients purchased highest package? is that right? Also theres $100 non refundable fee to start apple store app account. 25 for google. So you made 188 - 100 -25 = $63 ? Is that right?

One more thing, I gotta get this out. So some time apple wont let you publish client app, client need to create there own account. How many of those 5 clients created their app account ?

I did first publishing for free, as a bonus gig extra, but I published all 5 apps. Also, I already had both developer accounts so it costed me nothing.

Google developer account costs $25 one time payment.
Apple developer account is $99 a year.

Who does not want to mess with Apple accounts and Apple store, can do all this just for Android. They do not check anything at Google. I tried posting total garbage on their Play Store and they allowed everything.

When it comes to apple, the only time I had problems with webview was when I did not pay attention to how it looks on all devices. Even if you are making an iPhone only app, it still needs to look god on tablet, since they are checking tablet either way. But that was before I started doing this.

So just make sure you app has a nice splash, nice "home screen" and looks good on all screen sizes and you are good to go. At least that was the case with me.

Should I also provide you with my id, drivers license and my credit card?

You can always follow this, but do just Android apps if you are having problems with Apple Store.

You dont want to do this. Believe me , I have been there. A client who wants google app will 100% want apple app too. Trust me on that.

Haha chill dude. We are all friends here.

you can do app templates with adobe xd.
then call specific actions from website with buttons on the template and that would be semi-native and its allowed .
almost every kind of app relies in internet connection and make communications with website api.
Its hard work to learn and to execute but once you create lets say 10 templates then you would have minimal work to do for your clients small edits to buttons and menu arrangements ,,, you can charge even higher by saying that your apps are 100% compatible with every appstore

Nice share OP. Definately a good way to make money with initial work and minimal efforts afterwards.

Also, one can promote this service on reddit as there are tons of small businesses looking for something like this and one can make an easy 20 bucks a client ;)

but how to turn website in apps?
i dont know how do that

One last thing, you need a mac to build and release your app to apple store. Or a high end pc that can handle virtual machine with mac os on it. Or you can rent a mac. In short you need a mac of some sort.
Not trying to discourage you guys but theres a lot of up front investment a number of things can go wrong. If your app doesn't get released to apple store you might get a 1 star review by the buyer. Theres always that risk.
