whoa, that's amazing! now what's the best way to get the traffic? i don't think i can get anything from google for less than ten cents. and i don't have enough money to buy ads on myspace, even though their CPM is probably really cheap.
any advice?

use Speed PPC thats on here to make sure the quality squore issue is addressed
read their guide and you'll get the best prices you can. Think about using LPGen to generate relevant landing pages with you poll prominent (just don't steal the polls thunder by having too fancy a page with too much news on it)
Remember the old adsense adage about the ad being the best thing on the page so to help your visitors out you made their ad the best thing on the page and they clicked on it just to get off - mission accomplished. Well polls are the same
look at pages that have google adsense on them in the serps and you can do a page specific campaign
only pick the top ten results tho and check out the traffic stats and stuff at quantcast to see how much traffic they are getting

Cheap content clicks on Google.
Here's how I find my keywords for this.
1. You need Keyword Elite, or Ad Word Analyzer (though Keyword Elite would be ideal for this). What you are looking for is keywords that have searches (usually I aim for more than 500 searches), and have 0-4 Adwords campaigns.
The logic behind this is that anything you find with less than 5 campaigns should appear in a Adsense contextual adblock on a website with related content. And, since there are less than 4 campaigns, you should be able to bid the Content network minimum, which is .01 (although I bid .02-.04, depending on the subject).
Next: Ruck talked a little bit about this on his blog: writing the ad. Let them KNOW you want them to submit a email, zip, whatever in the ad. It cuts joyrider clicks WAY down, and conditions them to do what you told them they were going to do, which is give info over.
My Content ad says something like this:
Emeril : Hot Or Not?
Vote In Our Poll - Enter Email
For a big, big prize.
mysite.com/Emeril
So they know what they are doing, and when they get there, they are prepared to do it. Simple.
That's just about it about how you go about dat dere. Cheers.

teh only thing is i can't figure out keyword elite for the life of me. i've tried it about half a dozen times and it never tells me how many searches there are. it only gives me a bunch of variations on a search term...

so, you're saying, in order go get 1cent traffics, you need to advertise on high traffic content webpage?

I'll go over it in a nutshell. Put main keyword in Project 1. Select Ask, Google, FreeKeywords. Select about 3000-5000 to return. More than that and KE usually flips out. On the right side there are text boxes to include copy. In the box that indicates includes, put your main keyword. Hit run.
In Report view, in text box "Only Show Phrases Containing", put your keyword. This will cause only the keywords with your main keyword to appear in the results. Also choose "remove phrases with "6" words", and "remove unwanted characters".
After the Project 1 run, you'll have a list of keywords with the main keyword in them. Select them all with Control-a, right click them to send to Project 2.
In Project 2, select which engines you want (in this case, Google). Click the Filters button and put in this criteria. Select "searches", and put 500 as minimum and 1000000 as maximum. Select "Google campaigns" and set 0 as minimum, and 4 as the maximum. Hit Ok, and hit OK in the Project 2 start box.
At the end of the run, you've got a list of Google words for content network use that A. Have little competition, and B. Costs a penny to run on Google content network.

I've said it, and I'll say it again. Keyword Elite is worth the money just for these videos. Check them out (and consider buying the program. Brad Callen does a real good job keeping it constantly updated).

one thing to add after you have the keywords is to ALWAYS track at the keyword level
without it a campaign could be breaking even but if you got rid of the ads wasting money then suddenly you are in profit
this way you can eventually have only profitable ads running.
although this obviously will change so you need to keep an eye on this.
in extreme conversions , the latest one, you can do this in minutes for thousand of keywords once it's set up

Great info man, Never thought about it this way... that's why my polls still suck! I've been doing search for quite awhile but this definitely gives me a lightbulb moment for content network and polls.
Now to test this out... Should work.

One more word about all of this. Just because you find these words, doesn't mean they'll generate a lot of traffic. Your niche (and therefore demand for that keyword) may vary. You may have to use your imagination, and come up with a few more source keywords "outside the box."
In terms of keyword tracking, I don't know if that can be done from anything other than AsRep from the content network. There was one other program, but I can't remember which tracking program it was.
