Hi, I have several pages of my site ranking for the same keyword,
how do I cause Google to collect them like this, and make my site look much more authoritative.

You don't - it happens automatically when your site is established and authoritative enough for a keyword (think brand keywords).

Hi OP,

There is no hard and validated way.

try to use a few pages, targeting same kws or Longtails, and make your pages rank high! But, don't mass and stuff KWs.

cnn is like a multi million dollar site, you have to be really big to get that. and yes you probably should add your site to webmaster tools.
