Make BAT by using Brave Browser

Update: Finally started seeing some ads, get one about every hour (set to 5 ads/hour). They pay 1-2 cents worth of BAT each, but it's literally just clicking a link to visit the page. Browser itself is still missing some popunder ads, I installed Ublock origin on it (any chrome plugins work with it). Works a bit better but still hoping the devs address it in the upcoming updates.
Looks like a promising idea and crypto to get behind!

They got few advertisers just to test.
It's going live in a future update. Hopefully soon.

Update: I signed up as a publisher today to recover the BAT that I'm earning in the browser. I started off sending 5 BAT to one of my pages and going through the process. They use a company Uphold to do the transfers. The signup is straight forward, although they do require you to upload your ID card. The process I followed:

- Navigated to my homepage that I wanted to 'donate' to
- Donated 5 BAT to my own site and was told it would transfer when my domain accepts the donation.
- Headed to: https://publishers.basicattentiontoken.org/ (Non-Referal Link) and signed up as a publisher.
- Was sent to Uphold to create an account to hold donations sent to my page.
- At Uphold, I had to upload the front and back of my State ID. (I have no idea how it works outside the US)
- Returned to the BAT publisher site which had me install a WordPress plugin on my site to verify ownership of the domain

I wouldn't do the tip yourself option to transfer BAT. Too much risk.

"We don’t have a hard policy on this yet (it is a “gray area”), but what I would recommend is to avoid doing this. In general, we encourage people to use the tips to tip other creators in a natural way, not to send their entire tip grants/balances to themselves. (You can try tipping yourself, of course, but the point of these grants is to use them naturally and support your favorite websites and creators.)
Indeed, when entire tip balances are sent to a single publisher every month, repeatedly, this tends to trigger our anti-fraud filter. The filter will suspend your account immediately pending an appeal. Therefore, if you’re tripling up on this kind of self-tipping, then there is a significantly higher chance that you will trip the anti-fraud detection."

I'll be actively testing out limits. I'm planning on purchasing BAT to play with to test out a few things. I have a few friends that trust me so I can get multiple publisher accounts. A couple of which don't even use the internet, and never will so I can safely burn the accounts. I'm also going to see if different sites within a single publisher account make a difference as well. From what I see, it's 100% full amounts going to single publishers that are the issue, although it puts the entire deal at risk. The only reason I'm trying is that it could take a LONG time for them to roll out withdrawals and there is a possibility the desire to sell might come first. I have heard that their anti-fraud mechanisms are excellent, but that information is coming directly from the BAT team themselves.
I'll put a disclaimer there, though. Thanks for the information, @FindDIY !

A claim button appeared. When I click claim I have to prove I human by dragging a bat logo into the triangle, square and circle. After solving countless ( more than a hundred times) times it says I'm not human. Right now when click the claim button nothing happens.

They're carpet banning folks who tip themselves.

How so? The ads appear at random as a notification. There is nothing to click.

That seems a bit screwed up considering there are a lot of people with self funded wallets along with the token grants. So if my GMa has a blog and I want to tip her big every month, she risks getting banned for receiving a large donation each month? Seems to really go against everything the coin stands for and a great way to burn enemies. Obviously, that's not the case here, but still...
I certainly wouldn't risk following my post above without DUE DILIGENCE as there is a HIGH risk of banning your publisher account. I'm performing all actions on accounts attached to people that don't even use the internet.
I'm still going to run some tests. I'm really curious as to how they can keep people from botting on the earning side when half the devices I have BAT earning on keep earning in my absence, lol. I know they track how much time is spent on a page, but based on the virtue of the browser and how much it doesn't track, I'm assuming it has to do with how many people are tipping and how much.
@bartosimpsonio, can you point me to the info you found on the banning? I'm having an off day. I can't seem to find anything, lol.
On a side note, I got a couple of messages about how to bot / trick the browser as well. I'm not even going to entertain them. I don't mind trying to deep dive on withdrawing thresholds and such, but I actually support BAT and Brave and don't want to see it botted to death. A lot of what I'm doing is simply trying to understand the system in and out. It's just what I do, a compulsion of sorts.

Looks like they only go after the self tipped grants and not self-funded wallets. I saw an admin on their telegram group reply something like that.
The grants likely come from a certain address. If your browser wallet only has grant money and no self-funded BAT, then they probably flag you.

Been seeing ads for the last few days, I even clicked on a few because they were interesting - but still no BAT (I have dev. version and the settings all set too).

Mine seem to show up immediately. Make sure you are clicking the triangle near the address bar and then hitting reward settings. Once you're in reward settings, you should see the part that says "Current earnings this month" on the left side starting to accrue BAT. It won't show up in your wallet until it's paid out, and that's once a month near the beginning. If it's still not going up in that section, then might be a tech issue. So it started to show up - was reading the BAT stuff, and the payment is based on variable time to make sure they're not being gamed by bots. Found a page that's giving free 10 BAT away: https://www.coinbase.com/earn/basic-attention-token

I'm having mixed results across the board and none of the data is correlating, lol. I have one account that is making small donations to it's associated publisher and big donations to other sites, and it's still pending on my brave browser with nothing pending on the publisher site, so I'm assuming it's flagged even though it's the one I played it the safest. My riskiest account set ONLY donates to the attached publisher site, half of whatever is in the bank at the time of donation and it's going through without a problem. I'm thinking the browser itself has some kind of client side logic from browsing habits or something. The account that seems bad is browsed by my grandmother, and she might be doing something that is being flagged? Either way, I'm going to have to set up a proxy and start deciphering traffic, and that's by far not my strongest skill.
TL;DR; I'm no closer to figuring anything out then I was a month ago. But I just got my grants yesterday and today so I should have more data to work with soon.
