Ok, I just found the coolest wordpress plugin in existence - It's called Cactus Masonry and it's completely free.
I've been looking for a way to make a nice grid homepage for like a month, trying all sorts of premium themes and even custom coding it. Who would have guessed the solution is so simple and free. No need for a 20MB theme that costs 50 bucks and needs 30 hours of code editing
