Make $400 a day, its easy..

@MisterGemini - the point I was making was simply that a lot of people jump on the im bandwagon expecting it to be an easy success, and yes I actually meant a sound plan not just an idea. Even real world brick and mortar businesses with sound business plans and well thought out strategies don't have a high success rate and they take a lot more planning to get started. In fact many times the plan is scrutinized by bankers and investors before the business owner is ever given the go ahead. That level of due diligence is rarely applied for people starting out online. When you take something like IM where people can just give it a try without any experience whatsoever, then the failure rate is of course going to be greater.

I just added the shoe store analogy cause I wanted to show how some factors are easy to see. I thought about the riding on the coattails of success aspect as well, but decided to leave the analogy in there anyway. I would have chosen a better analogy but I didn't want to spend a lot more time thinking on it. The point is just that to really be successful people need to do their research, and be prepared to adapt to changing situations.

Good post though, you really elaborated on a lot of what I was trying to say in the previous post. Hopefully people can take the info you gave regarding how to evaluate information to get started on the right track and how to keep their model working.

I still believe this is the best time to be in the IM field for a true entreprenuer. Yes, people are more internet savvy than they once were, but they are also more convinced than ever of its possibilities.

GreyWolf has a lot of wisdom in his posts. There are many factors that determine success and failure. Why does one car dealership make a forture, and another struggel? They both sell the same product for the same price!

I believe the secret lies in 3 simple principles. 1. Think long-term. It's too hard to continually come up with new ideas to try to make a few thousand dollars before it burns out. 2. Have an action plan and hold yourself accountable to it. Show it to someone else. Get input and feedback. Be flexible but still pursue the initial goal. Be single-minded in your pursuit. 3. Don't just take "action"... take "MASSIVE ACTION". Don't stop, don't don't it half-heartedly. You can tweak your methods, but whatever you decide to do, do it MASSIVELY!

I am guilty of spending too much time on this forum as well, looking at the next good idea. I have now however adopted the mindset of "wow, thats a great idea, BUT, I'm doing this." I read to stimulate my thought process and get ideas of how I can incorporate some of your good ideas into my existing process and pursuit. No more changing course.

These simple principles have worked for me... like anything, results vary by planning and committment.

I am all like you, but because of my laziness I have some feeling for what stuff earns money. I am already 7 years in the porn and adult biz. Tried lots of stuff, started with search engine spamming. Had some bad years and months, but always enough money to pay my mortgage. These days spamming search engines dont work for me anymore. Now most of my sites are whitehat. Right now every month I go around 10 to 20 percents up. No more bans and months without money. I also don't like to write content. For me the trick is to pick a good keyword, not to small, not tooo large. Try to predict what kind of money their is to be made. I have one website which receives 1600 unique visits a day. I earn around 50 euros a day with it. My prediction was 3500 visits a day, with tools like google trends and other. So this is not what expected, but still making 50 euros x 30 days = 1500 euro a month with one website.
Its just a one page domain. But what I have learnt is that content is not an article its just a page. It can be 3 sentences long. The trick for me is promotion. Build a webpage on a keyword which can get you some money for sure. This can take an hour at most for me! Just some crap text with some offers. You need traffic, so try to rank at least at number 4 on that keyword. Number 10 is not enough to receive traffic.
Again build 1 page, and only promote this page!!!! Do everything you know, commenting, xrumer, scrapebox, find links by hand EVERYTHING! Try to rank on your keyword!!! Because you know this keyword will earn you money, and you need googles traffic to make sales.
After I hit the number 1 spot on my first keyword I was getting excited! yeah i am the man ranking on a decent keyword with 1600 visits a day. You get motivated. Ok I was lucky I earned 50 euros a day on this page. maybe your page will earn you 10 dollars a day, but its still 300 dollars a month. My advise focus on just one page. Its more fun to use everything you know on one domain, then every time start a new page or domain.
Hope this inspired you guys, just put all your effort in one keyword. Maybe the 5th page or domain you created and are promoting will earn you some serious money each day.
For me each day I will get those 50 euros without doing anything for it. So my head is clean and i only check the stats everyday. I am number one so project done. Next project !! My head is clean and I spend a lot of time on finding my new keyword with a clean brain.

No! Just build a website and rank on a good keyword, this earns you a small passive amount of money every day.
Guys, I think domain flipping can a very good source of income if you dedicate yourself to it. I haven't tried it myself yet but I am going to in the near future...

The source of 99% of everyones failure is putting the proper due diligence into the planning as a proper business plan would call for, and then following it. Take it from someone who has owned over a dozen businesses and had numerous partners/waste-of-space. If you don't do the proper analysis that goes into a business plan, you are just running in blind....

I have said it many times. Without a plan to succeed you have an automatic built in plan to fail.
Thanks for your advice.

I do plan, I am a chronic planner, In my video business, I plan every six weeks in the areas of

Time Management: a weekly dream diary that breaks up my time into, research, email responding, an half hour every night to plan next day etc so that I am balancing my workload.

Team: What my team is doing, when they are doing, who I am looking for, what my team's goals are. Who needs learn what.

Advertising: Where I am at in my marketing cycle, how I need to manage advertising like networking, telemarketing, mailouts, JV events. Followup calls to clients and how to keep in contact. What offers to put together, and what is worth sending in email.

Money: The current financial position, what the sales funnel looks like, what are the KPIs in terms of quotes, jobs, debts. The projected cash flow.

Systems: What systems are being reviewed, written up, basic flowcharts, process, time sheets need to be redone.

Goals: Is my 6 week plans fit in with my 1, 5 , 10 year goals, and with my mission and vision of the company I am building.

So I get the goal setting process and recommend to anyone take a day out and just get a draft of all of those things, then revisit ever
six weeks.

And that works for a business that has its core established. The problem with my business and most bricks and mortar as most web designer companies like you greywolf might agree is cashflow.

From when I first do or pay for mailouts, telemarketing, networking its 3 - 24months before I am paid. Thats what I love about the IM business model. I met a guy who had an idea for a diet book , put it together with basic paypal, and then started driving google ads to it, (this is four years ago) and with minimal investment, he took it to a 1.8 million a year turnover - 600K spent on adwords. Because you get the return so quick.

So just because I had success in another business it did not mean I would do well if I sat down and planned. I find:

THE HARDER I WORK - THE MORE I FAIL - THE LUCKIER I GET

I urge anyone sitting reading BHW who has tried none or a couple of things, to throw your self in head first, and burn like I have. I look back at some of the plans I had for an internet business a year ago and just think I knew nothing.. I wrote a plan for 800 sites earning $2 a day, wow did I find out the reality three months in...

This conversation has made me more resilient to try again, this time I will be more focused on something I believe to be a valuable contribution with a valuable service or product.

Has anyone else tried this and failed/succeeded (preferably your failure story seems to be more educational right now, and a good balance from the mountain of success stories) I do recommend adsense arbitage to anyone, just don't do it in your own name- I urge if you are successful in one technique, try another and tell us how you go. If you have never tried, do something,

I have to say after kicking around this siet for a few months, I listen every time I hear Mr. Gemini in thread. Yeah $1 a day out of 100 Micro niche sites sounds great, (and yes, I bought that ebook, learned a lot too) but at the end of the day isn't a handful of authority sites , preferably about something that you love, but that can still draw traffic, going to leave you feeling less burned out and ready to face the next day. Isn't that going to make it easier to get up and start writing and working? I don't know the answer, I'm new. But's it's the direction I'm going to take to start out. Although d%mn that ewhoring sounds entertaining.

Yes, I think doing something you love would leave you feeling less burnt out.

I was in the same boat when I started out. I tried out several methods like CL, AC, autoblogs, etc. Most of the "easy" methods and ended up failing pretty bad. If you keep searching and working towards your strengths, I think you can eventually find something that works for you. Focus on what you're good at and what you have at your disposal.

Hotboy's mfa 'microniche road to riches' was actually a pretty good idea when he started on it, but that's an example of a method in which everyone that read it didn't quite understand the instructions in the same way. Rather than having the same success that Hotboy had, most people just wasted their time and money flooding the net with thousands of crappy sites that didn't even have much chance of hitting even a $1/day.

The thing is, if you're able to make a site and market it to the point of making a few dollars a day with adsense, you should be able to make a slightly better site and get it making $50-$100/ day or more. Since it seems so easy to just duplicate the $1/day site and scale it out into more sites, many people go in that direction. But it's a short sited direction because you still need to get good placement in the serps and that takes work. If you have 100 sites, or 200, 300 or more then it becomes a lot of work. In the process the sites start getting noticed by the SE who then try to counter all your efforts. Overall your better off in terms of long term success to work on building a few solid sites that can make $50, $100, or more per day. All the effort put into the hundreds of sites can be focused on just a few and get much better results. Those sites don't need to be works of art, but just built with longevity and growth in mind.

LOL, it's pretty funny that of everyone posting in this thread your the first one to mention ewhoring as something that might be fun. Actually all you're doing is acting, so if you have the right frame of mind it can be fun. I've never got into actual ewhoring per se, but I have created a lot of ewhore type profiles that I use for other purposes. Female profiles work great for WOM marketing, so if you think the idea is entertaining then you should read this thread WOM Marketing - Old Method But Still Effective. Female profiles can work great for this method just as easily as they can be used for ewhoring.

Ah....man you tried a lot of things..i just hope you finally Get something working for you..
btw $400 a day is awesome amount :P

This is a very common problem that IM'ers face. You are not the first person, nor you will be the last. I usually go into detail and write long *ss posts about why people are not making money online, but i know that people have a tendency to skim through long posts. Dunno why but it's true. Whatever. If you don't have time to read, just save it somewhere and read when you have time.

Let me tell you one of the biggest mistakes people make on IM world. Maybe more than 90% of people fail because of this. Follow a method after method and once every one of them fails, either jump on to the next one or drop IM thinking that it's pure bs.

Most people are only focused on the result. They are so focused that they can't see the bottom of the iceberg. They just think "Ok, this method failed so what's next?" This is so wrong. Instead, you should focus on why it failed. And then find the reason/s and fix it. Don't be a method whore. Because once you become one, you'll get exhausted both mentally and physically. This will have a negative effect on your performance and eventually, it will drop down to zero one day, unless you stumble upon to something and make a lot of money. That's why people who are making a living online keep saying that "most people quit just when they're about to succeed."

The second reason actually depends on the first reason. You know the saying "Take massive action". I'm not saying that this is wrong. It just has to be reworded. It should be "Take massive action only, when you know what you're doing." People misunderstand this and jump from one method to another, without even analyzing the outcome negative or positive, and on top of that they take massive action. At the end of the day, they either have nothing or they make nickels and dimes.

There's nothing wrong with being persistent but there's no need for acting like a blind bull who has no idea about where he's heading. Bulls take massive action but at the end of the day, they get killed. Which ones survive? Lucky ones. BUT also the ones who analyze the situation and look at things from a wider perspective.

Now most im'ers are like blind bulls. They have the capacity, the brain, everything to survive. But at the end of the day, they fail. Do not ever just say "This method failed." Say, "Why did this method fail?" instead. You'll see that many things will change for you and other people once you flip the switch.

Once you figure out why things fail, you'll start to understand how to fix them. Once you become used to fix things, you'll start making better ones that don't need to be fixed. THEN, you can take massive action and enjoy your journey to success.

I could write a lot more stuff about this but it's almost 2 am and i'm exhausted. Thanks to OP for this great thread and i believe the contribution here will be useful to many people on BHW.

you - software purchased (wife going crazy over my IM adventure)

you - after 2 weeks of contant work , it doesnt work

me - you need to purchase $1k worth of more products , here's the link to purchase

However, there is light at the end of tunnel. One gentleman here said very wise words. Let the customers find you. I think this is very important. Other thing is "solve a problem".

You are not solving any problem. There are lot of people willing to pay money to solve their problems. But there questions should be answered.

Like, i have one charity organization. who had lot of money, they want to advertize their website. Basically, they wanted their charity organization to be famous.

Think about it, they were not eager to sell anything. You will find lot of organizations, individuals who want more exposure.

It was cake walk for me. They had good budget, i advertised all over the place. Their traffic sky rocketed. They are well respected, so they also received lot of donations. But that happened so easily, because they got lot of trust in their field.

In the end, i got paid, they were happy and those who donated were happy.

If you start biting the hand which is feeding you, you wont get too far.

This would make alot of sense, if I didnt have a successful offline business, and I got it from being a method whore, and I found I would try a mailout and it would fail and then do a lame mailout and it would succeed and then try the same mailout to a similar demo and it would fail, business moves fast and the same thing works then doesnt work, I have my xxxx open and ready for the next method, and I will take on what people have said and fix some of the stuff I have stuffed up.

Mr x you are a copy writer... please you know the inner workings of the mind of the mad, please tell stories of your journey in the trenches?

I started this thread promising $400 a day, so from my limited experience I offer the call I use to pull $70K jobs

Hello can I speak to the CEO,

"lame block from secretary"
Its a confidential call,
"lame push in 1 in 4 secretaries"
Its personal
"hello CEO speaking"
I have been working with your competition and done X, I think we should meet so I can show you what I am doing?
"you should meet with my XXXXXX who is head of XXXX"

call to head of whatever
" your CEO said we should talk"

if you can make websites or whatever, this works.. end of story

ok thats my gift - please give your story of failure, big or small..
