I do this for certain niches where I already have sites and want to rank for upcoming products. It works.

Nice share ..... however, to make this working you would have to outrank amazon themselves, wouldn't you?
Because otherwise people will just buy directly from amazon and not from your affiliate site ....

Also, I found something interesting which can be promoted. However, neither Amazon nor someone else already offers pre-orders for this. Does this matter? I can just make a website with some info about the product, and later on when it is available for pre-order on Amazon I add my affiliate link?

Now about ranking the website, I do not think I can use an EMD here because it would contain a brand name. I am not really experienced with SEO, so I would use a service from fiverr, seoclerks or from BHW, but as there are countless services I really do not know what would be the best way.
