I have been using this method for several weeks now, and it is working pretty well.
The purpose is to rank your articles high up in ezinearticles and then have people go to your author link, click on it, then buy your product or opt-in to your autoresponder, etc.
Before you start, I suggest you go to ezinearticles, click on a category, then click on any article within that category, scroll down and see the "most viewed" section, click on the top 5 most viewed, scroll down on the article, and see how many "views" they have. If it's less than 15,000 then it's worth getting into. Otherwise, it might be expensive to compete with...see below:
1)Sign up for a premium membership with ezinearticles (optional but it can save you tons of time because articles get approved within 24 hours this way) - they give you 30 day refund money back guarantee, so its $97 to sign up, but you should submit lots of articles (have to be unique), and then get refund after 2-3 weeks if you want.
2)Write 15-20 articles (pick out about 3-4 niche, and have 5 articles for each)
3)Submit them to ezine articles in their appropriate categories (make sure your author box goes to the affiliate product, sales page, etc. Remember each author box must be different for each niche, so if your doing "weight loss" then remember that your author link should go to a weight loss product, etc.)
4)Get articles approved with ezinearticles
5)Go to donkeymails.com advertising package
