Great news, now SEO tools will be able to use an alternative source to Yahoo's Site Explorer. This just announced by MajesticSEO:

Majestic OpenApps Launched

Yahoo Site Explorer closing will mean many link tools will simply stop working. Majestic SEO are therefore delighted to announce that they have just created a new way for web developers to give our users access to their tools. This will be a life line for many free or low cost tools currently scraping data from Yahoo Site Explorer.

Cool! Let's hope TTravis, MarketSamurai, ScrapeBox and SEO PowerSuite tools take advantage of this.

Check out Open Site Explorer by SEOMoz, does everything I need, may be worth checking out.

well I tried seomoz(even pro trial) it but it shows so much less in backlinks count than even majestic. Both are no where close to YSE but since there is no choice I guess good enough.

What is cool is that they provide an API for developers, so they can again enable backlink checking in their tools, even if it's not as accurate, it's still better than nothing.

It would be cool if other SEO analytics providers offered an API of this kind too. And thanks for the SEOMoz tip, I'll check it out.

Majestic is already in Market samurai and i think majestic is far better than any of the other , Yahoo always generates 30-40% of actual links as compared to majestic whose data is always relevant and updated
