Maintaining page 1 position 1 rankings ?

First off I'm very grateful for what I learned on this site. I've been able to bring my website from page 3 all the way up to page 1 position 1 for a local cleaning service in Anchorage Alaska. I need to know how to stay at the top. I have done article marketing blog commenting forum posting as well as keyword optimized my homepage. it took a while but I'm at the top. at this point I'm kind of afraid to do anything because I don't want my rankings to be negatively affected. what are some solid bulletproof ways to maintain my position?

first and foremost thing, maintain the link velocity!

Link velocity not important. Just try to focus on getting some manual high quality links now to maintain your position. Personally when i hit no.1 i do nothing except adding new content now and again and also some social bookmarks. If it ain't broken don't fix it!

IMO first thing to to keep track of the rest of your competitors on page 1. Keep an eye on their page updates and link building. Whatever new links they get, study it and try to replicate if you deem it to be of value.

If they are updating their site, then update yours. If your competitors are not doing much, I would scale down effort in updating content and link building.

Keep building out links but a bit slower, try to get them from higher PR sites, stay consistent

Slow down the process of getting back links and try to focus on new directives like getting quality links from websites like squido and hubpages and keep updating your website regularly that is what it takes to be remain number 1

Those backlinks may harm your sites later if you have many of them. You may create a blog giving generic useful info about the services you are offering (like how cleaning helps/plays an important role in life etc etc...). That way, you will have rich content too.

Do not forget using social network sites.
