    Hi guys,

Please entertain the following hypothetical situation:

I have a keyword that I want to rank with medium competition. Part of my main link building strategy would involve building 8+ web 2.0 sites around that keyword and linking to my main site. I would then seek to build up the Web 2.0s authority by sending social bookmarks, blog comments etc to them.. Let's also say I build some other links but the "strongest" are the Web 2.0s.

My question is.. do I use my main keyword to link to my site from the Web 2.0s? Since they would be the "strongest" links right off the bat, I fear that Google would see this as a little odd since these would be the most "authoritative" links (comparatively).

Generally speaking, my inclination is to create an anchor text link on the higher PR domains but I also fear that this looks too unnatural to Google.. but perhaps it doesn't. So I'm wondering do you guys typically place your primary targeted keywords on the more authoritative web properties such as Web 2.0s? And when might it start looking like obvious manipulation?

Anyone? Sorry for the newb-ish question but it's something that's been on my mind and couldn't find anything on here that directly addressed it.. any input would be appreciated.

You'll want to diversify from what i read, but chose desired anchors and naked anchors on the web 2.0's as they have higher domain\page value. You can diversify your money site with backlinks from lower PR\Authority sites in a non-spammy manner with do and no-follows links.

Thanks dinkish. My theory is that higher PR links should not be all keyword anchor text, as I think it looks like too much of an obvious pattern. Does that sound about accurate?

It's accurate. Your anchor text should be a balanced mixture of exact match, related phrases, naked url, generic (click here,go to site) and website name.
