    Hey all,

    Printing postcards is easy:

    • Find local print shop (or online.... whatever)
    • print

The thing I'm stuck on, is: how to I get addresses on thousands of postcards?

I have a fair grasp of my action plan and I have a strategy worked out for testing the direct mailing water ... but I just can't figure out how I'm going to send out that many cards with different addresses on each!

Do I just find a company that will print the postcards with the addresses on them? And have them ship it out?

In other words: any tips and suggestions on how to get 1,000 different names on 1,000 postcards and send them out in a efficient manner?

    Danke,

You could try a service like Amazingmail.com.

Get Powerleadspro software. It scrapes leads, and can print them to labels among other useful things that would suit what you are doing. If you don't want to buy it ($397.00 currently) have someone do it for you.

I have not yet tried to get it to print directly to postcards, but now that you
have jumpstarted my brain, I'm going to see if I can. Or suggest the idea to the developer. Thanks for that :D

Are you wanting to mail in the US?

From past experience and having a partner that is in that industry, don't pay a cheap price for some company to mail out to zip codes. You will get NO return on your investment...

If you are in the USA, the Post Office has a service that will do that for you.

Go to USPS.gov and you'll be able to create post cards from there
as well as import your mailing list.

Invite a few friends over.....get them some food and drinks. And hand-address each any every one of them!

    Why?
Because when people see a hand written envelope or post card.....they will pay much more attention to it :)

If it has a sticky on it, they will more than likely toss it.....I know I do.

You did not give out too much information about what you know or are doing. So I will assume that you are in the U.S.

If you hook up with one of the better postcard publishers (I am assuming you are doing a custom postcard) they know the USPS regulations regarding postcards, like the amount of space required for the address. They also have the ability to print the back of the postcard with an address and prepaid postage.

And with bulk mailing and zip code segregation you can same a little on postage.

Print 4-post cards on an 8.5x11 or 8x10 piece of paper as a sample.Use any type of word processor. Print both sides if you want copy on each side. For great images got to google images and input the keyword your looking for. Take the master to a Kwik Print (or any other) and have them print 250 sheets on post card stock then cut them for you. One printing will produce 1,000 cards. If you want it to look like lots of color print on a colored stock of paper with black text and you will have a 2 color postcard.

Most ink jet printers will accept post card stock and you can use the merge option in microsoft word to do your addressing for you. Use a script font and it will look terrific.

If you need current names and addresses in a csv file format, mail me and I will help you out. I can make lists for you ( name address )for $0.20 per lead with a 100 ($20.00) minimum. ( pay pal payment only) I will also filter them by city with no additional charge. Order will take me about 48 hours.

P.S. I send out about 3,000 post cards per month using this system.

Right now on WF there is a special for Power Leads Pro for $147, and you can print the leads directly to mailing labels. Great software!

i know this is a very late reply but if you are printing the postcards yourself for a mailer you will need to do a mail merge on either openoffice or microsoft. I am very fluent with openoffice but they both have pretty much the same features. If you choose to do it yourself be sure to have your postcards printed with a non uv coating otherwise you will not be able to inkjet them.

If you opt to use a company for the printed they will do this for you. Email me if you need postcard printing with or without the addresses... I also do targeted bulk mailing, email appending, and targeted emailing by location.

If there is a problem with me informing rootkat of my services please let me know and i will modify or remove this post....
