Hey there,

quick question, I just received a spammy promotional email on one of my accounts that I use sort of as a test account for my own mailinglist (think my.name+mymailinglist@gmail).

Since no-one but mailchimp (and sumome for collection) uses that mail, it makes me think that mailchimp is selling off data from my email list to other lists. Has anybody experienced the same?

Thanks!

If either of those companies was selling your data it would be huge news.
Any chance your MC account has been compromised?

Surprise, a company mining data and selling it, just like facebook

Hmm I investigated a little further and it looks like it might have been my mistake after all, apparently I used the mail some place else (even tough not really sure if I ever signed up). Just a weird situation since I haven't received anything on that adress for over 2 years (except my own newsletters).

Thanks for all your answers!

Would be pretty crazy if MailChimp actually did this. But you never know.

i dont like mailchimp im not suprised they could do that.

well ...are they the only ones who do this?

Never receive those like that so my thought mailchimp can't.:)

It is definitely a spam email. mailchimp is one of the reliable email marketing site and have good reputation.

It can't be Mailchimp - it hit your inbox!
