Mailchimp Mailing List Question

Hey Guys,

I am starting to build a list and I want to put a form on the sidebar of my site that integrates with mailchimp (or any other FREE listserve as I do not have the budget to spend on aweber and others). I have custom coded the form so that it uses the mailchip formatting however, whenever I test it by entering my information, I am redirected to my mailchimp subdomain where I complete the sign-up process.

Do any of you guys know how to integrate my form with mailchimp so that users are not redirected to mailchimp, and users stay on my site through the entire process? ANY input would be massively appreciated.

Mailchimp can confuse us sometimes because of its interface. I am using it and I do not encounter this problem. You may contact me and I can screen share you how I do it.
