Hi, im completely new to the field. Reading on older threads about the subject, most mail extractors are windows based. Social email extractor works with mac, but is a little expensive.

What i want to do is just simply harvest email adresses from URL's, so nothing to complicated...

Been searching through the jungle of mail harvesters to no avail. Can't simply find one that seems flawless, easy and relatively cheap for mac.

Does anyone here have any experience with email harvesters for mac?

    Yours,
    Strindberg

As for most SEO/IM related softwares, you just won't find anything good for mac in most case.
Most of the time it will be either low-quality, not working anymore, unsupported, or expensive.

Your best bet is to get a windows software and run it either on a virtual machine (i.e. Parallels Desktop, VMWare etc.) or on a VPS.

This is what I do as I'm working on a mac, and it is really the best solution so you can use the windows based softwares everyone else is enjoying and stop wasting time searching for mac versions with no luck :)

Just downloaded this tool and it works. Wish it included the URL with the email. That would make this tool a lot better.

Just get either VPS (runs most likely faster and 24/7) or run Windows via BootCamp. Virtualization still loses quite a bit in speed, and native software doesn't really exist, or ist very bad as noted before.

    Hey Zak,

What do you use to connect to the VPS from your Mac? RDC? Because I'm finding this to be unreliable compared to how RDC runs on Windows.

Yes I'm using RDC, it is indeed sometime a bit unstable, as in it sometimes freeze if I let it open for several hours (but I didn't expect more from a MS software anyway) but it does the job anyway and it's fine as long as I don't keep it open when I'm not using it.

Never tried something else actually, I'm using it because it was the default option recommended by my VPS provider, and I never took the time to look for an alternative.
