Hello people.

I have been playing around with Magic Submitter and think it is a great tool - very powerful - however it is also very time consuming programming new services in. I am particularly interested in bookmarking services (I have scraped about 450 PR2+ bookmarking sites that I want to add - I've varified these using bookmarking demon and most are Pligg sites).

I've tried the parent/child functionality and this works up to a point, but keeps breaking at the capchas as the URL's for these change from site to site.

My question...

does anyone know where pre-programmed services (bookmarking) can be downloaded and simply imported into MS and they work as is?

if no to the above, does anyone know anybody who offers this as a service?

I think I'll stick with Bookmarking Demon - as MS is too time consuming for commercial use
 
Hi, I was just searching for MS updates and found this thread of yours.

Good to see someone else giving it an honest try.

It potentially is really powerful but like you say I've found it really time consuming.

I was really proud of myself when I spent a day fixing the broken services in the designer then realized it would take soooo long to go through them all myself. I guess if you really tweaked them nicely it would run smooth and you'd only need small tweaks to maintain it. I might even be willing to do that and may chip away at it when I have more time but another problem I found is sometimes I couldn't get the services to work even with the commands since they require C programming etc...granted those ones were the minority.

What would make this supercharged if there was a central point where everyone uploaded their designer fixes and kept it up to date then everyone could share the power/love. Unfortunately I haven't found anything like that yet. I found a thread just then which talked about it but which seemed to amount to nothing.

I am currently using MS for bookmarking and web2.0s. Atm it's pretty good for web 2.0s submissions- I found it terrible for article submissions which is why I ended up buying AMR on sunday.

It is good for bookmarking too.

I have a few updates for it which I'd be happy to share which I think someone made themselves which gives it about 270 bookmarking services and alot of other ones- obv. if you are using BMD then this won't be much use but it has other services added too across the board.

It's pretty good for bookmarking so far so I'm gonna stick using this for that for now since I can't afford BMD either atm and MS is doing a decent job of it.

I am still not satisfied with how many failures there are overall- I get an ok number but still it is really sloppy and it's a shame cos it could easily be fixed if ppl organised and uploaded updates for sharing.

I'd be interested in discussing MS more with you if you still use it cos I find not many people use it around here but I like it; it seems to be an acquired taste due to pretty steep learning curve I guess.

When I have more time I will chip away at fixing the broken services. Maybe if you did so too we could pool our resources (plus anyone else who is interested if anyone else here uses it :D). I think it has awesome potential so I am willing to keep plugging away at it as I've already been rewarded for my efforts in terms of submission results etc.
 
Sometimes I see a lot of positive feedback on MS and then I come across negative feedback as well. I have thought about getting MS but I just cannot see paying a monthly subscription fee for something that isn't top of the line. What is the point of an automated tool, if I have to do that much work to maintain it and keep it working? I wouldn't want to pay a one time fee for something I have to maintain that much. Much less pay a monthly subscription fee for it.
 
If you think so then use senuke or ranknuilder.

However i find MS excellent. Because you can add your own services and types of services=custom plaforms. Pligg,sccutle,forums .... almost any platform can be easily automated.

For automating custom sites (one by one) it is the most time-efficient tool. Only ubot may be better - i am not sure how user friendly is it - and how fast you can make boots.

MS is way better that imacros and much better that sicksubmitter for making custom sites. Sicksubmitter is a little better for making forum profiles and testing sites. But it is time consuming to code in sicksubmitter.
 
I use imacros some times ago, now I've switched to MS. I have the same problem with Ranko. Many services (almost 70% for blogs) is not working. I will try to fix it and add some services. If it's easy I will stick to it, but if it's not, I'll go for senuke.
It's good if Ranko and anybody else would swap services so that we don't have to do the slow work. :)
I wonder why krulik won't make this easier by organizing the volunteers.
 
Ok, I've test Magic Submitter for adding services. It's not easy since there are so many situations that makes submitting results in error. But this is the best I can get right now. I can do it with imacros or macro expert, but MS is a lot better.
The only problem is, fixing services is a very slow work. I will try to make a site for MS users to exchange services if I people are willing to do this with me. Anyone?
 
I have 150 -200 do follow bookmarks Magic Submitter services, index rate is over 70%, I spend more then 2 month to collect them, monitor, sort them out and by hand create submit services...

I will sell them for just $20 plus gave U special software to fast create bookmark accounts. This is limited offer I am kind of out of money and wanna buy Blog Hatter and few other BH softwares.
For first 5 customers I will give solid 3 months of MS bookmark service updates. PM for payment and use this bookmarks to boost your search engine positions.
 
Does bookmarking really work guys? I have tried it in the past and never noticed any help for my sites.

In 2007 I bought bookmarking demon and refund it, like you I am thinking this is not working, but real point was my lack of knowledge.

Now after 4 years, without demon but with Magic Submitter, and thanks to this forum and MS & Nuke tutorials (for strategy) I just know what to do, and how to do it.
I am on first page on every keyword thanks to bookmarking, does not matter is it long tail or 2 word keyphraze. Real results can be seen after 1 month. I can not imagine any linking strategy without bookmarking.
