Made $30 on two articles today

I think video game reviews are not that popular with AC, so basically you're lucky that they accepted it for upfront payment
Not sure about the sources, but when doing reviews you don't need sources, because usually its your own experience. and if you write about some technical details or similar you could say its from the package of the game or whatever.

I have a question.

Let's say I have a particular method for getting pageviews for a niche I write in for AC, but I also write in two other niches that don't get as many pageviews.

Can I still submit articles for the niches that don't get nearly as many pageviews as the niche that does? If that makes sense.

Quick question regarding proxies and PVAs

i signed up for a new email to be used for my AC account using a free US proxy and then used the same one to sign up for my US AC account, is it ok to use free proxies or do i need to buy one from here??

also i have some friends in the US that are willing to verify my account with their cell, just wondering how many AC accounts you can verify with the same number??

@red Yes that is correct, I don't have a bank account/CC to verify, which is why I am having some problems here.
I'm in the process of waiting for the netSpend deposit to work.


Does netSpend still work with verifying US paypal accounts?

The alert message on paypal where it says the mini deposits have not been sent is gone, so this means they HAVE been sent. How long should it take to show up on my netSpend account? Will it work over the weekend, or only on business days?

I do not care if the limit is not removed completely;
I only need to make a $30 purchase on ebay.

It's a requirement that you only can put an image with your article from the sites they have listed. So my question is - So am I pretty much out of luck if I'm doing an article on a new digital camera but the sites they have listed don't have a picture of it? Thats pretty bogus. :/

@ johnconner - To be honest I'm not very comfortable giving tax related advice to people. I'm not a CPA so I would hate to lead you astray on it. I know there's already some threads in the Business and Tax Advice subforum that discuss Pay*pal and earnings reporting.

@ kapow! - I've actually addressed the fact that game reviews don't do well a number of times in the thread already. Like John mentioned, they're usually not accepted at all unless they're pre-release reviews.

@ greyninja - No problem, glad it helped. I'm hoping to get the new book finished and released by Feb. 1st, but either way it will be within the first week in February.

Free proxies typically don't work for long so they're not recommended. I made a detailed post about 5-10 pages back that explains all of the best current proxy/IP solutions though.

As far as the phone numbers, you can only use a number one time to verify an account.

@ Stool - I've always verified my accounts with bank accts/credit cards so I can't really offer advice about netspend. I just collected those threads to try to help you out. I would PM some of the people posting in the threads I gave you who posted up saying it worked for them.

@ ANthraxx - You don't have to add a pic of the exact same camera. Just pull a pic of a digital camera.

I have been pessimistic on AC since I gave it a try last summer and got very frustrated trying to please them. I need to give things another go and put my head down this time.

Anyway, to play it safe, yes, you'll want to use a different IP or proxy to register each of your accounts. Proxyfirewall was just a suggestion I made because it had worked for me when I first started with AC. I'm now actually able to change my IP by resetting my modem. I'm not sure if you've tried that first, but it's definitely the most convenient. If you do go the proxy route, you can try the proxy list that comes with Proxyfirewall but they may or may not work. The best longterm proxy solution right now are Packetflip proxies, which you can find in the proxies subforum here at BHW. They cost, but at least you know you'll always have a working proxy to rely on.

If you're in the States, you can always just go with a cheap dial-up Internet service for working AC as well.

About the proxies....when you said you did a post on it a few pages back is this the one? ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

I searched for it last week and couldn't find it (though I did find lots of other good info - this thread is nuts!). Then I went into the proxy bit of the forum and got Charon, Proxyfirewall and some socks...do I even need socks?

I'm thinking now that maybe I don't need Charon, just PF and something like the Packetflip proxies (not the free ones from the forums I just joined lol. Yah, now I read that post). Let me know if I'm moving in the wrong direction. Damn proxies!

Since I have Charon I'm guessing I should use it to check the paid proxies in and go on like that.

damn guys...It's funny how on Hootsuite i have 1000+ views and on AC only 417..

@ Tygrus - I'm sure the book will help on that front. There's really two distinct ways people can approach AC. As a side thing just to get some quick money coming in, or diving in head first, committing time to it, and testing with their upfronts for a period of time. In my opinion, the best way to do that is through mass submitting, comparing articles that bring solid upfronts to those that bring lower upfronts, and fine tuning to meet the standards of the higher upfront articles.

I'm sure the people that have posted up who are getting $5.00-$7.00 upfronts have experienced the same learning process.

@ Fireboltgirl - Yeah, the combination of Charon and Packetflip would be a good combination. I'm not sure if you saw any of the posts by BHW member proxygo, but he apparently has a pretty popular service/forum and offers free proxies that you may want to talk to him about for use with AC (keep in mind I haven't used his service myself so it's just something to think about). I've also heard good things about the paid service for Hide My Ass proxies.

For the calls for content i was wondering if they still pay upfront for articles that say "performance only"..

I'm looking through, and I've found a couple for 2.50, but theres lots of other topics i'd like to make 15 bucks off of haha.

No mate, if a C4C sais performance only there's no upfront pay for it. The ones you want to keep an eye out for are the $10-$25 special assingments and Partner Calls.

Hey red, I bought your ebook earlier today and I'm glad that I did. I found it to be the most informative of any ebook I've ever bought. Mostly because what it didn't have, useless fluff!

So I've been spending the day scraping articles for reviews on untapped niche products. One question has popped up in my mind, should I "mix up" my submissions? For example, I should submit a mix of reviews and how-to's on different subjects isntead of say submitting 5 reviews of 5 different products all in the same niche.

I can't remember if I saw it answered in the thread, but we aren't supposed to embed affiliate links within the article, correct. If we hyperlink a word like amazon, it has to be amazon directly?

From my experience, yes you have to mix it up. I submitted same niche reviews and 9/10 got declined twice..Just learned from it...

Redtide, I got a question with IP's. I was using my proxies through a service called proxybonanza. I had all my 6 accounts using each an IP but now there site just dissapeared and stopped working. I tried using these free proxies through websites but when you do it that way it you can't even log into AC.

How does everyone else get their proxies?

Exactly, search volume plays only a minor part in the equation. I've found that the "sweetspot" for a keywords search volume is between 100 and 3000 total searches with less than 30K competing pages in Google (with "quotes").

Um, no one will or should be listing that information especially in an open forum. Maybe through PMs.

Please remember that AC dedicated members are lurking (or even signed up) on BHW and will not hesitate to take action against any information (such as proxy sources). Those men and women have been known to cause problems in the past and will not hesitate to do so today or in the future.

Be careful who you trust and please, when all else fails, use PM (Private Messaging for those who don't know what PM stands for).

As for where I get my proxies, I'm keeping quiet. (shhhhh, I was never here...ok:cool2.

P.S.: google/bing/yahoo is a really good friends of mine. You should ask them about proxies once in awhile.

@ hevindester - You're welcome Dan. That makes me feel really good to know you thought it was the most informative you've ever read. It still blows me away to hear that (especially since it was the first book I've ever written ) I really appreciate it.

Defintely mix up your submissions like BH_Manic was saying. If you hit them with too many from any given category (ie: reviews, how to's) they can start to drop your upfront offers, or end up declining the articles. Same thing goes for the actual niches you're writing about.

If I find a bunch of good articles to scrape that are within the same niche or category, I'll still have them all rewritten but just spread out there actual submission dates.

With affiliate links, it is against AC's terms of service to use them but many of us have gotten away with slipping them in every once in awhile. With that said, it's up to each person to decide whether it's worth their account getting suspended if caught.

Btw, I tried to send you a PM to confirm that you got the extras that I sent out with the book, but your PM's are locked. I sent them to your Pay*pal email address mate.

@ danizdeman - Exactly, but do make sure that you're clearing both cookies and cache. We've talked quite a bit about proxies over the last few pages if you haven't read it.

@ CaptRU - I agree with Milly that it's best for everyone to keep their own personal proxy solutions on the down low so to speak. I listed some of the current proxy services and options over the last few pages though.

Those of us that have been involved in this subforum for awhile have dealt with some serious bs and game playing from members at AC (including game playing to get our accounts banned etc).

@ PoolShark - I use exact in order to make sure I'm targeting my exact keyword phrase.
