Made $30 on two articles today

Happy NEW YEAR GUYS!!!
I have some small issues here,and i need your help guys.I'm trying to make a new AC account but i can't get past the verification process neither with bueno or voicemail.I'm not sure how the format of the number i enter should be.Lets say if my bueno number is : 213-314-4618 how should i enter in AC's tab.???
Like this? 12133144618? +12133144618? +1.213.314.4618??? or 1-213-314-4618??

The second problem is with How To's articles or 10 TIPS FOR kinda articles.I don't know what keyword to choose and dont know how the article format should look like, so far i've been submitting only reviews.
If you guys could help me with a sample article it will be greatly appreciated.

@streetballa- When A*C requests the phone number, they show you the format they want. For example 1 ___ ___ ____. The 1 is already included, so all you need to do is put in the area code and the additional seven digits i.e. 1 903 230 0078

For your question about formatting how to articles, if you want samples you can just go check A*C to see how others are formatting their how to's.

Hi guys! Recently I submitted 2 articles with keyword density around 2.3%, the 2 keywords I used for these 2 articles had over 1200, 1800 monthly searches on google (I used google keyword tool). Also no article on those keywords was published on AC, But still they got rejected giving reason for the first one as:
"Most of the traffic to content on Associated Content comes from queries on search engines. Unfortunately, we believe this content does not match something that a user would be likely to search for online."
& for the second one:
"Unfortunately, this content did not qualify for an Upfront Payment offer because the topic is not specific enough in scope to be discoverable in an average internet search."
I want to ask, what should be the minimum no. monthly searches on google to avoid such rejections. Somewhere in this thread Red advised that around 1000 monthly searches are enough. I followed the same but still it got rejected.

I think it must have been the topic that you selected.. I once submitted articles like "History of Scented Candles", "How To Photograph Chikadee" etc. and got the same message.. So my guess is that the niche/topic is not very popular from AC's point of view

Well, previous posts by Red says he even got even search volume as low as 500 per month got accepted ! I feel the heading has to be really catchy for the editor to approve ( manual ) and some decent level of searches for the system to approve IMHO.

I'm consistently getting 3.5$ (right from the go) from a new account and 2.5$ from level 4 account...LOL

I agree. I'm pretty it sure it has everything to do with the title, opening and closing paragraphs. I've submitted quite a few articles that get very little searches per month and they've been accepted for $3+. So if you want to write about the history of scented candles go ahead, but change the 'big 3' up to make it something that seems "more popular".

I love the fact that I can look through the papers I have written throughout my education and can publish them to AC.

This is legal right? After all, they are my works.

@prasenjit1857- I've written a few articles that have 30 searches a month and have gotten 4+ upfronts, so yeah the title and opening and closing paragraphs play a big part. Most of the articles I publish on A*C are how to type articles so that may have something to do with the upfronts. A*C loves how to articles and Top 5, Top 10 type articles so you should try implementing that into your titles.

@ stool - I recommend staying away from rewriting software for the purposes of AC. Not only because it's more time consuming than it's worth most of the time, but because learning how to write/rewrite an article (with or without DNS) is a big part of Internet Marketing in general. It's like people that automatically try to hire rewriters before submitting any content of their own. You can't properly hire a writer/rewriter if you haven't done it yourself and know firsthand what you need from the articles.

Doing some rewriting yourself using DNS and then hiring some outsourcers when you're ready to scale it up would be the way to go.

@ streetballa - I'd recommend reading over all of the top content producers how-to articles at AC. People like to read short lists, bullet points and articles with paragraphs that are no more than 4 sentences long.

@ prasenjit - Again, AC doesn't have a blanketed excuse for every reason that they'll end up rejecting an article for. In fact many times the excuse they give will be mostly unrelated to the real reasoning (unfortnetely). I would retitle them and rework the first and last paragraphs and resubmit.

@ BH-Manic - That's pretty typical because PV's haven't come into play yet with the newer acct. If they are giving you $1 less per article with the clout 4 acct, it's an indication that you have a bit too many articles published on that acct for the amount of PV's it has.

Congrats on starting right out at $3.5, it shows they definitely like the quality of your content.

@ mariopits - Exactly, I can't emphasize enough how important the title, subtitle and the first and last paragraphs are. Also, if an articles keywords have too much search volume it's not a good thing either because then there's going to be more online content that your article is going to have to compete with.

@ stool - It's totally legal. As long as you wrote the content it's yours to do what you want with it. Just keep in mind that a good school paper doesn't necesserily make for a good article for AC. Make sure to add keywords if need be and check your competition levels for those keywords at AC.

@ tchashow - Exactly, search volume plays only a minor part in the equation. I've found that the "sweetspot" for a keywords search volume is between 100 and 3000 total searches with less than 30K competing pages in Google (with "quotes").

@ lanta99 - You're welcome! Thanks much for kind words and the buy. I actually had 4 weeks invested by the time it was released. It makes me feel great to hear that it was the most informative one you've read. I'm hoping to have the follow-up Advanced AC Insiders Guide done by the end of this month, in which case I'll have 6 weeks invested in this one.

I've got a story for you product reviewers out there that might help you out.

I submitted a product review for a television last month and that day it made a few views. But after that the views jumped up to about 75 views per day minimum. I have found out that the TV manufacturers website has the intro to my article with a link to read the fully story. I think it would be a good idea for product reviewers to try writing articles for companies whose websites features articles on their products. My article has climbed high up on the search results in G00gle.

I hope that this can help people who regularly review products. I would post more details but I feel like it would have the potential to give away the identity of this specific account.


EDIT: Doing this also seems to get your article posted to other sites as well. Maybe there are other niches that can do the same thing

@ Dodge- If the info in it becomes outdated over time then I will go through and revise and make an updated version available free to the current buyers. Luckily, the things I explain in it are just as valid today. Any revisions or added info up to this point has been covered here in the thread, so if you haven't read through the posts I'm sure you'll pick up some tidbits to add to the book info.

@ Vicious - That's one of the cool things with AC PV system is that any of these article we publish can really go viral if the right sites pick up the content. As long as they link back to AC you're in great shape. Congrats for having them pick up your article btw!

Hey red, how many twitter accounts do you have for your article promotion? I currently only use one per A*C account. I was thinking that maybe I should create the twitter accounts by niche. For example, having one twitter for gardening, one for parenting, one for music, etc. Do you think that it would be more effective than having one designated for each A*C account because they aren't bringing in the pageviews I would like them to.

@ tchashow - I have a total of 13 Twitter accts. Some of them are specific to certain niches but to be honest it doesn't make a huge difference. So many people that make up the specific niches are marketers that are just there to pass off their own links, and have no interest in checking out your articles. With that said, it also depends on the niches themselves that you're targeting.

I'm not sure if you're using Facebook or not, but I've been working over the last month with building up my friend lists there and it's going pretty well for building PV's. It's all accumulative.

was busy in not so good things in the world and to be more specific it was my examination and after that a marriage in my family (though it was good). now i am back on bhw and for all the newbies who have not yet made some money plz buy redtide's book coz its a dynamite to blast AC with.
i just saw a $10 upfront for an article on AC. has anyone claimed it yet. the requirements seems to be a bit though. so wats up with you all folks, have u claimed it. btw if you have not then it just until 1pm of 6th jan2010 in the east. right now its 4:15 am here.

thanx red. I have been using facebook but I was just using the one account I had before I started writing for A*C. I don't get many page views but I'm sure if I built up my friends it would be a lot more effective than twitter. Maybe I'll try myspace also.

@thegladiator- I noticed that $10 assignment but i don't live in chicago and I had no idea that a plane crashed. I didn't know if I should do it or not because it asks for a first hand account of what happened.
