Hello dear Red,
You simply amaze me! Your persistence at helping all others should be a role-model for some of the other IMs. Here you are, coming again and again, and giving out information and advices to all without rest! It's a pleasure & honor to have known you for so long!
I can't say about some other person from whom I purchased another related tool. I have sent him email, written and requested on multiple threads, and what-nots! But the person isn't even responding!
Thank you for the kind words srb! I do what I can
I will say the same about you! Thank you for constantly giving your time to help others without hesitation. This is the kind of thing that makes BHW what it is, not being judgemental in response to peoples posts and offering a hand of friendship in response.
Your kind gesture you offered the member who couldn't afford my book is a perfect example.
Regarding the other issue, I hear exactly what you're saying. I have been getting bombarded with messages from people looking for support from him. It's unfortunate and a bit of a mystery to me as well. I'm not sure if there's family/personal issues going on, but just as a reminder to everyone, it's not my software so I can't offer support for it. All we can do is hope it gets rectified soon my friend.
what are the hot topics these days on AC's.....where i can get more of upfront payment....
To be honest, I don't even try "chasing hot topics" with AC. If it's "hot" it also means that there's a good chance it's going to be oversaturated by the time you get your content published for upfronts. If I'm submitting a piece for display only to bring up my page view average, I will worry about using a hot or controversial topic (as an example you can use G0ogle Trends, Yah*oo Buzz etc), but for all of my upfront submissions I'm only concerned with adding a unique angle to anything and everything in daily life. Some of my highest paying offers are for the most mundane things.
I hate to coin the cliche phrase of "think outside of the box" but it really is what it comes down to. Like we've talked about earlier in the thread and like srb pointed out, certain niche topics will always do well, such as personal/business
finance, parenting/pregnancy/child raising, health/self improvement/personal growth, auto reviews/loans etc etc. The point is to add unique angle's to what's already been published at AC for that specific niche.
My upfronts for the holiday themes dropped significantly the last week. I agree with SRB.. go for the evergreen topics.
To be honest, I don't go after holiday themes for the most part, not only because of the low payments/oversaturation issues, but because I'm looking at the long term page views,
is writing about technology or web 2.0 gives gud upfront...or something for online marketing
If you're adding a unique angle or something different to AC's library for those niches, yes. Again, do a search in AC's search engine and confirm that your keywords aren't already done to death like we've talked about earlier in the thread. You can also search G0ogle to confirm this with "your keyword phrase here" site:Ass0ciated Content.
Hey Red do you think that AC intentionally makes some genres performance only just because they know how popular the niche is? I wrote something on a niche that they said didnt qualify for upfronts (video game niche) I ok'd it for performace only. It's been up for only 24 hours and has already outperformed all my other articles ...its even had positive comments made on it by readers. I havent promoted at all, driven traffic..nothing. Its not even a very well written piece imo. I did it in like 5 minutes just to test the niche.
Absolutely, like we talked about earlier in the thread, certain niches like video game reviews, humor/comedy, movie/music reviews (unless it's a pre-release), will typically not be given an upfront offer.
Lol Red....
Congrats on helping all of these people out, one of the most popular threads I have ever seen - Dave should have put the 100$ contest on this one instead
Thanks for the kind words mate, I do what I can
It amazes me as well to be honest lol. I started this thread just to offer up how I was working AC and the thing has seemingly taken on a life of its own.
Hello everyone. I have to say this is an amazing thread. Without getting too much into my personal life....I'd like to say I found BHW in August. I stumbled upon this thread and decided to give AC a try. I bought Redtides book, asked him a few questions, and got to work. With the help of the book and this thread, the lowest upfront payment I had was $3.30. Then I had to take a pause due to family issues. In October, I begin to lurk around BHW again, and I am now ready to start AC again. Here is the take I have given for articles I have submitted: Brainstorm on topics that are affecting Americans due to the recession. The choices are so many that I do not mind sharing this info. For example, if you lost your job and you had a mortgage, there is a strong possiblity that your home might go into foreclosure. You'd want to prevent it right? You might even consider selling the home. You might go online looking for ways to stop the foreclosure. You might search for how the process works. Catch my drift? Anyway my one foreclosure article is still getting page views, and it got me $4.00 upfront. This is just an example. The recession is causing many people to make all kinds of choices. Let's face it, most of them will search the internet to get answers. So put yourselves in the information seekers shoes and develop a few topics. Hope this helps.
It's awesome to have you back Diamond Kitty. I remember when we had spoken before and had wondered how you were doing during the interim. I'm glad the book and thread was helpful to your upfronts offers.
Best of luck with your continued success and keep on rockin! :wiggle:
Cheers,
Red
