Made $30 on two articles today

My experience on craigslist has been dissapointing. I got hundreds of replies but only a few were interested enough to rewrite a sample, then none of them returned their bigger article packs.

Hope yours goes better.

@ klopklop - That's awesome! To be getting $4.30-$5.00 right from the start is pretty amazing. Congrats!

No, word count typically has no effect on upfront offers. In contrast, many times they will offer a person less because of an article's length. What I would do is split the articles in half and just change the 2nd article's keywords to submit it as two seperate pieces. I'm sure you will get a lot more return on your investment that way. AC tends to like short, to the point articles the most.

Again, congrats on the great upfronts you've been getting ;)

@ Elvis - Yeah mate, I've never personally used CL so I'm kind of anxious to see how it goes for Nightshade as well. If that many responses are coming in on the ads, you would think that at least some should work out.

Since you mentioned that some of the people that responded didn't even send back anything, it makes me wonder if it was some of those assholes trying to pull that scam that I talked about on the last page. Remember that Jason guy had posted up that shitty ploy for people here in the AC subforum?

Could be just a coincidence though.

thnx for the tip redtide!
I'm doing this for a couple weeks now, and thanks to you my upfront offers are always around $4.

I also got a couple $4 offers for travel/guide articles wich were not SEO optimized.
I guess AC does pay well for guide/travel articles... or was this a fluke?

LOL. The only way you will know for sure is if you try it again. Congrads! Remember to promote!

hehe, I'm going to write some guide/travel articles tomorrow and we'll see if i'm right or not...

Hi red, I read your ebook after reading through this thread twice say its got some things that aren't mentioned in this thread. Definitely great for someone who is new at this but Id love to see the more advanced guide you plan on writing as well ad the write up that summarizes this thread. PMed you.:)

I'm getting $4.3 - $5 for my articles with 450 - 500 words. I just submitted a couple articles with 1000+ words.
Should I expect a offer of $8?
Anyone with experience please enlighten me.

Thanks already.......

Been doing this for quite awhile already and word count will not get you any higher of an offer. It's quality of the article and how well they feel it will perform in page views. It has nothing to do with length.

Honestly my best paying article ( $5+ ) was actually one of my shortest ever. It's just the way AC goes.

Shout outs to everyone, sorry i've been absent awhile. I was hospitalized again but I'm back kicking some internet ass again ;-)

You're very welcome! That's what I love to see. Keywords are definitely important but depending on who reviews the articles and what the content consists of, you can get high offers like that. With that said, the best way to consistently get the higher upfronts is to use keyword/keyword phrases in all of your articles though. One thing that could have happened is that maybe you weren't "targeting" a specific keyword, but the articles still had natural keywords being used.

Keep up the good work!

Hi Nightshade,

Thanks for the kind words about the book and interest in the 2nd.

Right now it's only in the planning stages. I'll need to begin the actual writing in between the other things that fill my days. I definitely want to make sure that it matches up to the standards the current book does, so I won't release it until then. I'll post up with how it's coming along though once I fire into it.

I'm hoping to be able to work on compiling the thread this week. I've had so much on my plate lately it's been pretty crazy.

Btw, post up with how things go using Craigslist if you would.

@ Jonwrong - Welcome back! sorry to hear about the hospital stay man. I hope you're doing better and more importantly, continue to do so!

Red

Okay looks like people are finding it really hard to find the niche my two most successful niche is

History |Post world War

Political Thought

These are my most successful niches averages $6

Its not like writing content for website
Its not affiliate marketing

so stop writing those articles just think beyond IM you will find lots of topics.

Its not necessary for you to write articles according to Google trends

Hopefully so. I would assume these people would tire of this quickly as they have to know we would be back instantly. I am still going to give craigslist a shot though. I did get a few replies the last round that seemed good at first. Although no one actually came through, I think only 10 or so actually returned the sample rewrite. If I can get a ton of posts up I should be able to do well. Also just acquiring a new method of changing IPs should help me post tons of ads.

I might have to ditch associated content for craigslist Posting if I can ever get my head around blanking refferers and all that nonsense.

someone posted here a few places where they got articles and submitted them to be re written.

I cant seem to find it. Can anyone tell me which post that was in this thread? I have spent like literally an hour going through it.

Ive posted a number of ads on CL and have gotten tons of responses. There are a lot of experienced people out there that have returned my sample/test paragraphs within minutes and they are freaking amazing, willing to work. Most though either havent returned it or are b*tching about how they feel they are worth more..Cry me a freakin river....

BUT there is defintely someone out there trying to screw me over. Ive notices tons of phony gmail addresses with one or two line replies asking for a sample and thats it, everyone that is real has a "personal tone" in their replies and presents a resume, there emails are also reputable such as comcast, earthlink, aol. So I am asking everyone to submit a resume to verify themselves. So far no one with the fake gmail addresses has bothered to send one a resume back after I asked for one. In fact one idiot accidentally put a bunch of hashed up text in a reply by mistake, another one is crying to me right now because he "claims" hes a writer but has ZERO proof of who he is or refrences. So automatically Im deleting all replies from gmail addresses.

@ silent_thunder - Congrats on the $6 upfronts! Also, thanks for the tips about your niche.
You couldn't be more right about the difference between web content writing and AC. They're two totally different ball games ;)

@ Elvis - Hopefully CL pans out for you in picking up some writers. CL can be a great money maker, but like anything that makes money online it can be frustrating as hell. One of my good friends here at BHW just stopped posting to CL because of all of the headaches and new policies they've put in place. If you do dive into it, I wish you the best though.

@ findmeone - I'm not sure what post you're referring to, but there are tons of places to draw content from. Just try to stay away from the article directories themselves. The articles in directories tend to be too broad in subject matter, too promotional, and not specific enough.

Red

Hey Red, Glad to see your going to write another book, is this a maybe or will we definetley be getting some more of your wisdom?:), on another note just found my first 2 re-writers took me 2 weeks and a lot of heartache but it was worth it.

Thanks Again

Hi Jack,

You're welcome mate, glad that you've got the ball rolling ;) Yeah, I'm going to put together another one for sure but just need to sit down and put everything together.

I'll keep you updated when I'm ready to start it and then try to give a timeframe of when I think it may be done from there.

Just a heads up to everyone that I started working on compiling the thread for all of us. I figure I'll spend a few hours each night, and should hopefully have it ready to post by the end of the week. I wanted to thank BH_Manic again for his help as well.

edit: Holy crap! I spent two hours on it and only got the most important info from the first 4 pages compiled. It may take a little longer than 5 days lol.

This frikkin thread is a beast!

Thanks for the help redtide.

Has anyone had trouble using ACs search. It seems like the first search goes through fine and the rest hang and don't even go through. It is really bothersome for me. You would think a site as big as AC would have their stuff together.

Edit:
My workaround is to use google like this
site:associatedcontent.com "Search String"
Might not get the newest listings but neither will waiting for AC to do it themselves

You're welcome mate.

Yeah, we had talked about how inaccurate their search function has been 4-5 pages back. They're talking about it at the AC forum as well. It's crazy that a company that's worth as much as they are can't fix their freakin site glitches. AC staff give weekly updates over there and week after week will talk about how they're working on it.

Lol never gets fixed though
