Made $30 on two articles today

I'm an Indian, and when someone speaks ill of my country as a whole then it gets me angry. Well, knowing you now a bit better than before, I would gladly apologize for saying a bit more than intended. You'd have done the same if someone had illogically criticized your country, England or Thailand (btw, I love both these countries -- England which I have visited and have really liked my stay there in the mid 90s, and also Thailand, which I have heard beautiful stories since my childhood). Hope you'll understand.

P.S.: most of the Indians staying in US or UK have their education in India, and more than that, it's the Indian culture in them that makes them so much better while dealing with life. About the working practice, well, I have first-hand experience of what we have to go through, and still come up one-better on our counterparts there.

Well I was offered $1.50 for my first submission, which was an article I wrote. Nothing special but at least it was accepted.

@ AnthraXx - Have you had any any luck with getting in contact with the developer about your install errors?

@ CJohnson - Well, that's a start but I'll PM you and see if we can fine tune what you're doing for better upfronts. I accidently deleted the PM you sent me the other day while clearing out my inbox, so apologies go your way for that btw.

You can definitely do some fine tuning to fix that issue but I will say, from **Someone I Knows** account who had written for AC for awhile who had to start over. Their first upfront offer on there new account was $1.66 when there offers before for the same writing were in the $3.50-$4.00. **Someone I Know*** lol... pushed there clout level to 3 overnight and there next upfront in a similar niche (with worse writing if you ask me) was $3+. Clout is important.

AC is REALLY focusing on clout levels write now when it comes to upfronts which makes sense for them to do from a business perspective. There is some things you can do to tweak out your article I'm sure and get $2.25-$2.50 for your articles with a low clout level. The best favor you can do yourself though is go and promote the crap out of your article that you did get accepted and published and raise your clout level fast.

If you can do that you will find your same articles that were getting you $1.50 will start pulling in $3+ everytime. Show AC that they will make money off you by showing them your writing gets page views. There are many ways I can think of to get to a clout 3 at least over night with the right article accepted. (Even if you submit it for performance only, in a subject that people are very likely to read. Something oversaturated that AC wouldn't pay you for but would get you major page views if you plant the right seeds online for the article)

That way AC will be more comfortable knowing your writing will make them money and then your upfronts will go up as a result. Mine have always increased linear with with AC as my clout went up.

Absolutely right about the importance of page views and clout!

A method I've been using that works really well to raise page views/clout QUICKLY on a new account is using Goog*le Trends. I'll do a search in GT and pick one or two of the top 10 searched trends for that day, then have my rewriters kick out a few articles that I've scraped online based on those keywords. I'll then submit for display only so that they get pubished quickly, then promote the heck out of them using the techniques I've already outlined earlier in this thread.

Because they're being highly searched (which you already know based on they're placement in GT), they will build your page views/clout much faster than a regular article would. You won't get the upfront payments for them, but they more than pay for themselves through the page views themseles, and then the higher upfronts you'll always get once you've used the technique to raise your clout.

I won't give exact figures due to prying eyes, but I was able to get a new account up to clout 5 with only "3-6" articles submitted, of which "1-3" of those articles were using this GT method and submitted for display only.

The best way to get your clout up is to write something that will piss off a fanbase of a certain band or something. This girl wrote an article about some American Idol contestants and she got sooo many hits and it was posted all over different boards and what now.

You can use controversy^^^, articles that "pull on peoples heartstrings", anything like that, as long as the title of the article makes it hard to resist clicking through to read the article.

How many tweets do you guys usually send a day on each account.. and how many accounts do you usually use... also.. when I tweet using Hootsuit it always puts RT: (my name) RT: my name RT: my name... Do I delete this part out of my tweets?

3) Check your settings. Hootsuite doesn't automatically send everything as a Re-Tweet (RT) for me.

My "roomate" just started today, read about 3/4 the whole thread. He wants to start off submitting 7-10 articles a day between 2 accts. Once he has built up page views and clout levels, he plans to create 2 more accounts. So that gives him a total of 4 accts, three outsorced with decent clout levels, and 1 acct W9 verf. All the accts will have different proxy and name.
My roomate is familiar with SEO,linking, and bookmarking. Is this a sound plan?

It sounds like a sound plan to me mate. Make sure your roomie is submitting quality, keyword rich content and he/she should be in good shape.

I recently purchased a copy of your book redtide and its amazing, i had been writing for ac for about a month before i purchased it and when i put your steps in place i now get 80% of my articles published with no trouble, just like to say thanks for the help

I think you're a little confused about what this thread is about. I'm not hiring anyone

pertaining to page views, what's a good number to aim at weekly? and how many people should I follow daily using hummingbird..

I try to shoot for 200-400 views an article per week, and try to keep the amount of people I follow with HB below 200 a day to play it safe. You can get away with more, but they've been cracking down on mass following a lot. Rather than following too many people a day on one account, I like to spread it out over more accounts. It's all personal preference though.

Not sure why but on hootsuite it says one of my articles has 80 clicks and on AC it says it only has 22. Are the clicks in comparison to the actual page views always this inaccurate?

I have seen the same thing while using hootsuite. I track the clicked AC links I placed on my blogs, also and they don't add up to AC page views. AC page views are always less.

I am not 100% sure how AC counts page views.

The following are all possibilities. May or may not be true.

• Maybe you got a click but the person didn't stay long enough for the ads to load (ads need to be loaded for it to count)

• Maybe the ads weren't showing at the time the link was click (technical problem on AC end)

• Might be that AC isn't showing page view stat in real time.

• Maybe they count http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unique_visitor.

• Maybe AC isn't counting all page views due to technical issues or skimming page views to payout less.

Looking at AC's source code, the Analytics programs being used are:

Not sure how those stats factor in with the page views users receive from AC.
