Made $30 on two articles today

Still learning about writing decent articles... :rolleyes:

My Content stats:
EDITOR DECLINED (6) | PUBLISHED (4)

In my declined news items, they usually say:
"AC encourages Contributors to submit content that employs an original angle to news stories. This could include content that relies heavily on analysis, personalization, localization, expertise or original reporting on a topic..."

And "normal" articles, they say:
"Content must exhibit correct grammar, sentence structure, spelling and punctuation per our Submission Guidelines..."
(There are 3 articles declined with the same message)

Yep! I need to improve my english :p
I've already tried using some softwares that check grammar/sentences structure (Like 'WhiteSmole 2009' and 'Ginger'). But, the solution is really reading and editing the articles 100% by myself.

It's all a learning process and at least you're putting in the effort, which is bound to pay off.

Like I said before, the English and grammar is really important to AC.

Hey guys, just an update.

I just got my first two "trial articles" accepted by AC at $0.99 and $1.00. Hahahaha!.. I can't help but laugh and REJOICE!--- Honestly! although with a little pout... :(

No, I am not crazy!.. My wife thinks I am!--- hell no! I am just very happy because of some reasons:

1. This only means THIS WHOLE AC THING WORKS!.. well, IT IS FEASIBLE!

2. I am not from the US, actually I'm from a 3rd world country and I managed to set up MULTIPLE AC accounts and submit articles without getting banned! What is worst is that I freakin' hate article writing! I have got NO single idea about it!

3. I got Redtide behind my back! --- and that tops up everything. :chino:

Now I am breaking my silence as I promised Red because I am seeing some results with my efforts under his guidance.

To all the newcomers to this thread, or even to those who have been learning AC for quite a while, the easiest way to do AC is BUY REDTIDE's book and then go over this whole thread again! This is no product promotion guys, just a friendly advise that will save you A LOT of trouble. I have been in your shoes and believe me, it's the easiest way to learn AC.

By following Red's book, I now have 3 phone verified AC accounts and still adding. If you do not have the patience to read over this whole thread ( as I did :D ), just buy Red's book and you will see that almost ALL of the things you need to know to get started at AC is in there already! --well, I did get started at AC by using the methods outlined in Red's book.

And you know what guys?... the most remarkable thing is Red's UNBELIEVABLE support. It just totally blows my mind away!... Well, it is already evident in this thread as you know it; the way he answers all questions for the benefit of all. But wait until you get one-on-one with him or at least exchange emails with this awesome guy!

I shall keep you guys posted with my progress. Ciao!

damn, AC has changed something. I'm getting all of my articles rejected now. I used to get no rejects (the only ones that were rejected, were due to incorrect formatting), and yesterday, I got 11 accepted of 16, today 1 accepted out of 8. Seems like they are getting a whole lot stricter on the whole keyword searchability thing.
 
Even I am facing some kinda trouble here.
My very few of my articles are getting rejected (my mistake, I sumitted articles about the most common topics), but the ones that are getting accepted are getting very low upfront payments. I just got about $1.35 for each article that I submitted.

I followed all rules in the book... but dont know what went wrong!! :(
 
All I can say is Keyword Density, Linking in the articles, Format, Good Grammar/Spelling, and using content that isn't over saturated. I got all that just from reading these posts and I've only had 1 of 28 articles now that were rejected. Only ONE and im new at this. Also all of my payments have been between 2.62-3.40 from the get go.

I just got my fiance writing as well and she's be getting $4 from the get go without any knowledge of using keywords, seo, no links, etc. They must just like her writing. I was quite jealous. I get far more articles done than her though. I believe if you follow some of the simple things laid out above, which Im sure are covered even better in the book that you will see a LOT more getting accepted & for better pay.

Did you submit all 16 on the same day this time around. If yes, then that could be a reason of bulk rejection as well.

Right... I 'll try a little more of internal linking and will try out different niches. My current niches are not AC friendly I guess... :D

Try the internal linking a little bit and ill give you a tip, not gonna throw all my niches out there but this one seems pretty common. Write tech reviews on things that are specific! So you can check if they have an article on it or not. If they don't write it. I mean I even got $3 for a review of my Vacuum Cleaner and my Futon Couch. Just make sure you include make and model so it's specific and keyword it a lot through your articles... That is my good deed of the day, you can always shoot some thanks my way :tee:

You have a great outlook Shikkah and will get up there with your upfront payments I'm sure. We just need to tweak what you're doing a little.

I got your email with attachments and will critique them as soon as I can and email you back. The last few days have been crazy because of hiring and training 2 more writers and a new content scraper, plus a new you*tube poster lol. It's been crazy 18 hour days here lately. What categories have they been submitted to man? Have any of them been to the news category? Shoot me a PM if you'de like because I think I may have a few ideas.

Exactly, ;) I tell people all the time that you don't have to target the most popular niches. Everything in your daily life is a niche. I'll look around me and just see something to make a keyword out of to go search and look for articles on. Some of my highest paying articles are on completely obscure topics/keywords. The key point is you need to know that people care enough about it to be searching in the search engines. If you want to take the extra step and check, just search the KW phrase in Googl with "quotes."

If you're getting at least 1000 search results then it's a solid one to write on.

@ No problem mate. I understand what you are going through. Same thing with me, I have gone through a lot of trouble hiring rewriters and content scraper. So far, I have found only 1 qualified rewriter and 1 content scraper, still under training.

I'm running through some stuff to pump twitter, etc. traffic into my articles and got some ideas i wanted to run by you and see if you have had experience with them.

I do have IM but I only use it for my coaching/consultations services. Feel free to shoot me a PM with your Twitter strategies. I've been using it for awhile now and it's great for driving traffic. I think I posted up a few pages back with my own strategies with it.

hey AC declined 2 articles of mine also but the saying this time was a bit different from what people posted above.
it says "
Thank you for your submission. This content is too short for publication. Per our Submission Guidelines, content must be at least 400 words long.
We encourage you to edit this content and resubmit for Upfront Payment consideration"

.i have heard b4 dat ac just wants 300-words
now i would have to edit it and then will have 2 resubmit it.
wil it be then accepted..
hey by the way i got first article published for 2.24$
i dunno when i will get more than $3 or$4

AC wants 400 words minimum but if your lucky you might be able to get by with like 375 if it's a REAL good article. Just lengthen it up a little and resubmit and they should accept it. If you just started and your making around 2.50 an article you are doing well actually. Get your clout level up a little and prove your articles bring traffic and they will start offering you more I promise. That's how I did it.

AC needs 400 words min. Add around 5 to 6 sub headings and shoot up the word count to 400. That's what I follow attimes.
