Made $30 on two articles today

@Bonzok: When the book is scanned as an image and not as text, you have to type it by hand or use Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Any idea how can I retrieve the text from a pdf image. I'm getting some of the articles in a pdf magazine.

Bonzok, I have tried this thing of pdf magazine. It really worked for me quite a few times. The best thing is that you need be rewriting that article. :)
Now about your question, there are some E Books from which you can select the text as in any other text document (For dummies series). Only thing is that you must select the "Cursor" in the pdf reader in place of that "Hand tool" .

Now if you are talking about those scanned magazines as @johnconnor said. For those you will need office 2007- One Note software! If you have it then Bingo! you are ready to go.
Now open your scanned copy of magazine. Zoom the required page to such a level that the font of the text material shows most clear-cut margin.(I used to select 150% zoom). Keep the page of magazine page open in background, don?t minimize it. Now open "Office One Note" In its toolbar you will see a tool named "CLIP" select it. You will see a whitish colored page of you magazine.
Now select a appropriate part of the page containing the required text (Its like Crop option in image editor). When you have selected the part, that part will be copied in "One Note" automatically.
Now the juicy step :), Now right click that copied part in one note, You will see the first option as "Copy text from picture".
Hit it. That's it!
Now open the MS Word. Hit "Paste". You will see that text copied in word. If your magazine copy is well scanned. Then it's good. But a fair copy, then you would need to correct some words.
If you don't have MS office 2007. Then you may try "Optical Character Recognition" softwares e.g. JOCR (It's free I think!). But I haven't personally tried them yet. There are some paid softwares also claiming to perform better than others. Give them a shot.

Hope this helped!:)

@ johnconnor , thanks for letting me know.

@ BH Manic , sometimes there're quick with mine, but this time they really seem slow. I'll just wait anyway.

This thread is long! Spend few days to read everything (Hopefully I didn't miss anything important out). Now just wondering if someone can provide me with some site to scrape content from? I'm just taking too long to download to find content.

p.s: Found myself 3 rewriters who got good command of English and awaiting for articles to be rewritten. Right now I'm using PLR articles and filtering out those which I think will pass AC.

Is it just me or did they lower their upfronts in general? Usually I get 3usd for reviews of digital cameras, tvs etc. now its only 2usd. Tried it with a pretty new account as well so low pageviews can't be the only reason (besides, pageviews are good with this account). Quality of the review was the same as before. I used to do reviews as a kind of safety net because most of the time they were accepted for 3usd upfronts.

I have been getting consistent 2.50-3.50 product review upfronts now for a long time. perhaps it is down to the particular product you are reviewing, have you noticed $2 upfronts for a lot of your articles now or just one or two?

nope, i have noticed it for several accounts, older ones with higher clout level as well as new ones. reviews were about digital cameras and stuff, and i didnt change my writers either. also i dont post that many reviews, maybe 10% from all my articles are reviews. so its not that they are sick of getting reviews from me. kinda weird.

Sounds strange indeed, they will probably pick up again sometime in the near future, i find AC to be very tempermental with there offers sometimes.

hi redtide...

i'm looking for a long term job as a writer...willing to work for you if you can pay $1.5 for 400 word article...all extremely well written, copyscape passed and ofcourse can be used for upfront payments at associated content.

i can work directly for AC but i don't accept paypal as a method of payment.. i only accept moneybookers... i will provide at least 10 articles daily. however, i have two conditions:

1- only accepting moneybookers payments.
2- only accepting daily payments.... meaning is that i send the articles...you proofread them and make sure everything is fine...you send me the payment almost instantly.

pm me if you are interested to discuss this thing further.

Red is no longer dealing with associated content as you will see if you read back a page.

I can confirm to what a couple of members have said, AC indeed is not offering more than $2.

Maybe they will pay now only higher upfronts to those sending their W9 information? (I hope not, but one never knows)

well they payed a flat 2$ for all of articles between 5 accounts.

so it seems that quite a lot of people are experiencing the same. is here someone with a w9 account and non-W9-accounts? it would be interesting to check whether there is a difference in upfronts lately. i have a few articles in queue right now, will report back whether they are $2 upfronts or not.

I stopped submitting articles to AC because all of a sudden I started getting $2.00-$2.50 upfronts on all of my accounts. I tested it on a Clout Lv 5 account but I was still offered a measly $2.50 for a well written article. Btw, I also tried submitting a product review on the Clout Lv 5 account and I was offered $2.XX for it.

@redtide1969 I'm also sorry to hear you won't be active on this thread anymore. You really contributed more than a lot with us here.

Wish you all the best.

I too have been getting a flat $2 per article lately and my account is W9 verified. I thought the problem might be traffic levels to my articles, so I'm desperately trying to learn how to legitimately get traffic to my articles. Currently have a CL 3 but that was zero promotion from three articles published last year for performance pay only.

Is anybody with much higher traffic levels/clout levels seeing reductions in their upfront payments?

We will just have to hope that the payments will once again increase with time.
