Hi apktntaj,

Thanks much for the purchase and kind words mate. I'm logged in here pretty much everyday, so don't hesitate to ask any questions you have as you get started.

Keep us up to date with how you're doing :biggthump

I've read through all the answers in this fantastically informative thread, but still don't see one to the 'how do you get around not having a US telephone number?'

I'm in Thailand and my eco housing project's taking so lonnnng to get off the ground am now flat broke.

So, please someone - how do you get around the US telephone number verification thing?

Thankyou:)

it's written in this thread..... read well...

it's written in red's book too...

it's written on another thread too called how to get verified in AC...

Here you go tamsin, this is one of the methods for verifying your phone number and accounts http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/associated-content-writing-articles/113109-plz-help-ac-registration.html

When you go to register the accounts make sure you're putting that you're from the US and then do a Google search for a US based zip code.

Cheers

This thread is growing everyday and is really very helpful. And it's very good to see questions being answered in a nice way.

By the way, I now have red's ebook and all I can say about it is it's really worth buying. :)

Now, I am also the proud owner of red's ebook. Just purchased it some time back. Will most likely read it word to word tonight.

Thanks in advance, redtide1969

Unfortunetely, that's part of the weeding out process. ;)

How many ads are you running for hiring your rewriters?

@ everyone - Just a heads up that AC has started giving a little more for upfront payments
when there's a picture attached to your articles! AC must have realized recently that there's added value in the articles (ie: more page view possibilities) when there's a picture attached. I'm sure it doesn't mean that adding a picture will make a sub-par article get accepted, but if it's a well written article they can give you another 25 to 40 cents for adding a picture. I'll be doing more testing over the next few weeks to get an accurate assesment of the difference it makes over the long haul, so it's up to you if you want to do the same ;)

Another BHW member contacted me about it yesterday, and then I was able to confirm it today with some of the comments left by AC next to my accepted articles yesterday afternoon.

Everyone will have to make the decision for themselves whether taking the extra time is worth adding pictures, and like I said, we'll have to do some testing over the coming weeks to see how consistantly AC bumps up the upfront payment offers by using pics.

Thanks goodbyebluemonday for the initial heads up!

Cheers,

Redtide

I have another small tip for you regarding the AC account creation.

I realized that if you create a new account and you submit many articles the FIRST time, they offer low upfront offers.

I tried with 2 new AC account submitting 5 articles per account and receive offers about $2 - $2.5 per article. Then also the next submitted articles received low offers.

Some days ago I created a new AC account and this time I submitted only ONE article (related to the some category and with the some quality of the previous ones) and receive an offer of $4!!!

It's just my 2 cents.

Amazing... :) I submitted 2 articles on 31st and got paid $2.45 for one and $1.27 for the other... But then, when I submitted 2 more yesterday, the were accepted today with $3.6 each...

Thanks a lot redtide... your ebook is just amazing :)
Its an A-Z AC guide ;)

@ buck - Great tip mate...congrats on the high upfront offer :biggthump

@ swan - Thats awesome...did you do anything differently with the articles?

Congrats on the solid upfront offers! :tee:

Thanks much for the kind words!

Cheers

Nope... it was after reading the book. I was unable to make out why the payment was low, but then, after submitting the 3rd article, the payment was raised... Is this normal...??

Sure it's normal...they're telling you they liked the second two articles better. It could have been the niches they were written on or any number of things.

Either way, take a good look at the two that got $3.60 and learn from them

Then rinse and repeat it with your next submissions

@OP thanks for the informative posts! I'm going to start using AC to put a little bit more cash into my pocket. I was wondering if you still share some free example of some of your killer articles lol. I will be purchasing your book here soon ;). thanks again!

@ dshad - No problem mate, I'm not sending out examples of my articles anymore but I sent out my monthly newsletter recently that had 3 examples of my articles in it. If you want to go to the page in my signature and subscribe to the newsletter I'll send it out to you this weekend.

You have to understand that I get a crazy amount of PM's asking for samples, so I had to stop sending them out.

Best of luck if you dive into it :biggthump

Cheers

@ everyone - Do me a favor guys, If you're new to AC and have the same basic questions that so many do when they're just getting started or thinking of getting started, please post your questions here in this thread. Like I've said before, I don't mind trying to help people whether they already have the information in my guide or not, but if you don't have the funds to learn it from the guide then please post it here in this thread, not to my Ymsngr, email or PM box here at BHW. I use my Ysmngr for my AC consultation services only and prefer not to have people try to auto-add me there

If you guys post your basic questions here, then I can answer them one time and all the newer members can take something from it. I'm sure you understand it gets pretty time consuming to answer the same questions all the time with PM's or offsite messages asking the same things over and over, and it seriously keeps me from being able to get my own work done.

Like I said, I don't mind trying to help out but I need to use PM for follow up questions from buyers of the book only.

Thanks,

Redtide

Hi there!
I'm trying AC too. They already accepted 2 articles, with $0.99 each (the other one they said just to change the title) and 1 News item (Made $4 just with this one, but they rejected 2 other news).

Do you guys usually submit News items too? Any tips with that?
They pay more, but it seems that it's more difficult to get accepted.

I'm planning to buy your guide too redtide1969 :p
It's "Non-US-Resident" friendly?

Hi people,

Are any of you facing problems with GAF bidders...??
Coz, I just happened to face one from this crazy guy called sroy78.

His profile:
Code:
http://www.getafreelancer.com/users/1067469.html
(plz let me know if posting such URLs is not allowed!)

He submitted 1 article which was pretty ok. So I thought of testing him further and sent 3 more articles and gave him my IM as well.

And this time, he send crap and incomplete ones and asks me for payment. He never read my conditions i guess. So I posted a PM pointing out all his mistakes which itself looked like 400 word article.

And then, he comes over IM and started asking for payment. I refused saying that the articles did not meet my conditions and have loads of grammatical errors. He just didnt listen to me and kept on asking for payment. Then I said a cross-cut dialogue that I will pay only if he improves the quality.

He agreed and came back after 1 hour saying that he had rewritten the articles, but there was not even 1% change in that. When I asked that, he said that its perfectly fine and is 100% copyscape passed. But there was not even a bit of grammar in it. So I again refused to pay and he started to use abusive words. Totally!! They were really bad!!! Hyper abusive...

He even said that I am a fraud and stealing articles for $3... I have the entire conversation saved. I told him many times that if he can give me quality articles, then I can pay him. But he was just not ready to listen.

And he said that he'll get me banned from GAF. So I quickly closed my project (still dont know why I did that!!). And now, he has sent an offline msg saying "Got banned ?"

What should I do with this guy...?? Can anyone help me out...??
I am very sure that something has to be done to this guy. I cant complain to GAF coz they will get to know that I have shared my contact info with him...so, they'll ban me. Is there any other way to teach this guy a lesson...?? I am still fuming... His words were that bad!!

Hi seph,

Yea I do submit to the news category at times. I talk in length about the do's and dont's when it comes to the news category in my guide. The main thing you don't want to do is get caught citing bad sources. Like you noticed, some of the strictest AC editors are found there.

Yes, it's actually geared towards non US citizens in many ways. It should answer all of your questions on how to work AC as a non US resident.

Cheers,

@ swan - I had a guy try to pull something similiar on me as well. He sent a great first sample but then the first two trial articles were obviously software spun content that was useless to me. I refused to pay him and that was the end of it though. Sorry to hear about this guy that you had to deal with.

In your case, it's obvious that if anyone is a scammer, he was. I know it kind of sucks, but there's not much you can do to get him back that won't just waste more of your time. Since you didn't pay him a dime for his crappy work, I would just move on and chalk it up to experience.

Regards,

Redtide

Yeah... I planned to ignore it and move on... But his offline msg was a little threatening... it looked like as if he has set up a dispute of sorts... So, if i am banned... i'll be losing the money in my GAF account... This is what is worrying me...

redtide1969, Thanks for responding to all my queries. Recd your reply.
