Made $30 on two articles today

and one more question....how long does it take for AC to pay you after you submit an article? I have heard it takes a week to review the article and then they offer you a price is that typically how it goes? Thanks!

you should start at the top of this post and read thru it at least 3 times. everything you need has been posted in here.

That's what I was gonna say lol. But it's cool Matt. $1 per 500-600 words at GAF (Get-afreelancer.c0m)

It takes em anywhere from 3-10 days BUT that doesn't really matter once you've been submitting 30-40 articles per day everyday. It doesn't matter when you've submitted them, you are seeing articles accepted and money in your PP acct every day.

If you miss a day of submitting you miss a day of getting paid 3-10 days down the road.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the great info, I have just started with AC, I wanted to ask you about GAF, I have 2 projects going on now, and 1 still active, on all projects I didn't gets any bids for less than $1.75 per article,
the one I got for $1.00 per article, the provider then said he bid the wrong amount and then wanted more money for each article, we settled on 23 articles for $30, instead of 30 for $30,

my open project the bids have been $2-$3 per article, do you have any pointers on how to get lower bids, or are they just getting smarter over there on GAC.

I also have a question about multiple accounts, I assume you manage each account with a serparate ip,

but what about paypal, for each paypal did you use a business account with a different banking acct, business name,(in ny it costs $130 to register each DBA, so this is alot of outlay)and po box($35 per month) and trac phone, that is the only way I know how to get different paypal accounts, thanks so much for your time, cheers

Hi Foxy,

WIth Gaf are you putting in your ads that your budget only allows you to pay $1 per rewrite? Also are you saying that you need someone long term to work on 50-100 articles and then more after that?

On my ads I tell them to bid $50 for 50 articles and I end up getting flooded with bidders. (between 15-20 per ad) Many will bid below $50 to try to win the bid (I get them as low as $30)

I will paste a copy of one of my older ads below in case that may help.

On the accts issue I do it a simpler way but it's riskier. My isp changes my ip addy each time I reboot the modem, so when I login to a different AC acct it's with a unique ip. I also delete cookies before logging in. I only use one PP acct, using the AC accts linked to seperate PP emails method. (you can add up to 8 emails to your PP acct) It's riskier do to the fact that if AC investigates my accts they will see all emails linked to one name, but I'm not sweating it. From people I've talked to here and at AC. as long as you consistenly send quality content you can fly below the radar. If I do get banned I will just stop having a w9 verified acct. I don't bother using a proxy etc.

Hope this helps

Here's a copy of one of my GAF ads

I am looking for writers to write/rewrite articles on a regular basis. I will need a minimum of 10 articles submitted for my approval PER DAY in a zip file of.txt (notepad) format, with a minimum of 50 articles submitted per week.

I pay via Paypal within 24 hours of completion of each 50 article project, All articles must be written by a NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKING writer. Please don't bid if you aren't able to meet these requirements.

I pay $1.00 to start per 500-600 word article and will increase it with proven reliability and writing skills. I am looking for 2-3 GOOD writers who are looking for long term work.

I will supply you with all the articles to be rewritten as well as keywords. The keywords I provide you need to be used in a normal and conversational way throughout the articles. The keyword needs to be in the article title, first sentence and used another 10-12 times throughout each article.

The articles must be at least 85% unique, they will be reviewed through Copyscape and Dupecop for plagiarism. If an article you submit to me does not pass Copyscape or has spelling and punctuation mistakes, you will not be paid for that article until it is corrected and resubmitted to me for approval.

The articles need to be informative to the reader with 100% correct grammar and punctuation. They ABSOLUTELY MUST read like they are written by a Native English speaker...this is very important.

You agree that upon sending me the rewrites all rights to the rewritten articles transfer to me. This means you will not sell, reproduce or re-use these articles in any manner.

Please be able to communicate 1-2 times per day via email,
Bids will only be considered with a sample article on a topic that I choose.

When bidding please bid on the first project of 50 articles at $1.00 per rewrite.

If you are not chosen re-apply, I am always looking for more quality writers. I am very fair to my writers, but expect QUALITY work from them as well.

Please type this in your PMB to me.. "quality writer" so I know you read and understand the requirements.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you

Thanks for the great information. I might start doing it today :)

u rock redtide :)

as for calls for content, i decided to jump in and try AC writing. it doesn't seem like there's a way to do more than one article on a CFC in one account, or am i missing something? For instance, i claimed one on the Great Outdoors Month, which one could write tons of articles for, but it allowed me only one.

No problem Yachi,

Thanks werrich ;)

Hmm that's strange, it allows me to claim as many as I want. Of course the one's I always claim are the partner site C4C's. I've never tried to claim the regular C4C's. I've claimed as many as 3 AC partner "calls" on one account at a time.

Sorry I couldn't be more help on that

Good luck

to clarify, i mean claiming the exact same C4C on the exact same account. You have been able to do this? If so, very cool...

Ya I didn't relaize that's what you meant. No they don't let you claim the same one twice per account. When I posted about claiming 2 of them I was speaking of 2 seperate C4C's. One was for the Obama corporate tax crackdown and the other was for changes in the housing market. Both at $10 and for Reut*ers.

If I'm right in remembering that you said there was only one available to you and it was the Obama one, they must have taken the other one off by the time you got there. They take the partner calls down fairly early in the day if they've met their needs already. I claim those suckers early in the morn to make sure I don't miss em.

Hope this clarified

Thanks...I wasn't familiar with some of the terms such as GAF. I even googled it but could not figure it out. The reference to the website helped a lot. Thanks!

No problem man, glad it helped

@ everyone
I wanted to clarify to newer AC users that when I'm referring to C4C's or 'Calls for Content' I'm speaking about the 'Assignment Desk' on AC's main page. It had been called C4C up until recently.

Hope this clarifies as I'm getting alot of PM's asking what C4C is.

Also here's another little tip of the day...

When accepting a claim and doing the higher paying AC "partner site" assignments, make sure you use all real names, company names, correct and factual locations, etc.

I got a minor 'slap on the wrist' by AC staff for changing a realty companies name. What they do is when they are reviewing them they do a quick search online for to make sure the company exists and the city is the same as what you state in your article. (I believe that's as deep as they go though)

So say you are supposed to be attending a certain college located in a certain city in your article. They will check that the college does exist in the city you stated, but they won't investigate further to see if you are really a student there.

The 'slap on the wrist' was minor and they still sent it off to their partner site and thanked me for correcting it. SO no harm done.

Just thought I'd give you guys a heads up on it

thanks again for the great tips.

I'm also finding that there are new C4C's at many times of the day, but especially between 11 pm EST-2 or 3 am.

That's true, I've noticed the same thing that they kind of trickle the regular C4C's in. The partner site claims (the high paying ones) seem to always show up at 11 pm pst though. (at least here in Cali)

Have you noticed the partner claims trickle in at any other time than 11pm-ish?

Just wondering as I've never seen a partner call show up midday or late afternoon.

Thanks

Just a heads up for anyone submitting under the "news items" category for the flat $4 per article. I had had dozens of them accepted by just grabbing breaking news stories online and having them rewritten but apparently AC is really cracking down on this. I had a bunch declined from multiple accts. All were the same as the dozens that had been accepted.

I reworked em as per their requirements and they got accepted, but it makes it alot more time consuming...GRRR

sorry if i sound noob but what does GAF stand for? NVM got it, get a freelancer.com

Hey redtide,

Quick question...is it possible to write a series of articles, each one its one entity, and title them "How to....part 1"? And them submit consecutively in one day? Or would be better to submit them on consecutive days? Any experience with this? Or do you have any suggestions?

Again, thanks for all your hard work in this thread...I know you have a life too so it's good of you to help out here. This shows the true spirit of BHW.

No problem iron, glad to help

I've never personally submitted a series of articles like that, but I have seen other sources who have. Of course we don't know if they were accepted for Upfont payment, or just for performance.

One thing I do alot though is a series of articles that are all basically the same but each with a twist ie: How to parent a stubborn 2 year old, stubborn 3 year old, 4 year old etc. Ac seems to love this type of stuff.

What you might try to do is to type in a search on AC with a popular keyword and add to it "part 1" part 2 etc. And see what you find. Then maybe send a quick msg to the source and ask them if AC pays Upfront or only performance for articles series. That would be easier than to produce the articles only to find AC doesn't like them.

If you find out anything let me know if you would as I was thinking of doing a series on motorcycle safety tips.

Good luck man

redtide,

Thanks for the reply...good suggestion, too. I went ahead and put an article up as Part 1. So, we'll see how they respond. I don't have the follow-ups ready yet but should have them ready to go by Monday. I'll definitely you know how it works out.

BTW, another "thank you". As I mentioned before, I was stuck in "analysis paralysis" mode 'til I read your thread and for some unknown reason it touched me and shook me out of it and got me moving. So, my first article is in...don't even know if they'll accept it or not. But at least now I'm doing SOMETHING. Got a few ideas to twist it up a little as I move forward and will let you and everyone know how and even if it does anything. So, thanks again for the motivation.

Isn't it interesting how sometimes you never know how what you do, say or write will affect someone?

The very first article I wrote and had accepted was from an interesting news story, but it wasn't something that 990 other people would have jumped on, so it got approved. It was something really small in interest scope, but news just the same.
