Iv been a PC user all my life, never touched a Mac.

I'm thinking of upgrading to a Mac because my Windows PC keeps being a pain the ass.

Whats your take? Does a Mac work well for an SEO?

Have a Mac, bootcamped so Windows on it. It can do SEO, depends on what you do of course.

Both have pros and cons. It depends on your personal preferences

Mint user here.. will never go back to windows again :p
I will be buying my first macbook in a month though just to show off .. lol

PC for the win. Just build it right, good parts and software.

Yeah, till ransomware hit ur ass. jk...

IMO, Mac is for artistic ppl. Multimedia editing works better on Mac. It is fast to.

While PC give you semi-freedom with tremendous software selection. Also lots of SEO tools works on PC only. Hands down for PC.

Buy mac and a windows vps for bots, I think you can do anything you want if you have those two.

Most Of SEO Software Support For Windows Only Not For Mac..........

Multimedia works better on pc given the same budget.

Had a MAC. Everyone sad oohhh nice. Cost me 3X a PC. Now it's sitting on a shelf.

Basically this. I love the aesthetics of Apple products, but at the end of the day the premium does not justify it.

The current iMac is quite old now and due to be completely replaced in the Autumn. For sure you won't get much change out of $2k for the basic 27" model.

macOS is a more solid software, i had a macbook pro for 3 years and if i had to restart that baby 4 times its a stretch... with windows u can have everything up to date and still have a random error, crash or BSOD every now and then. When i bought my current PC i had a BSOD the first 3 days, all my software was legit too. It was the audio drivers. PCs are good if you have the knowledge and resources to make your own system for the same price of a Mac u can get twice the power. But if are not tech savvy or a spec junky go for a new macbook pro, they last twice if not 3 times more than PCs and you get a software that is meant to be used with your hardware and you can definitely tell the difference.

Had a MAC now my wife uses it for scrolling FB and Im back to WIN.
none of my tools seo and IM stuff worked good there, none of helpful tools like file splitters, duplicate removers and so on not worked there. Even when you have VPS servers you cant copy/paste directly files from your desktop to remote desktop as with windows, you need to do many annoying actions.. Also ctrl+c/ctrl+v stopped working - need to remap all that shit mac keyboard - MAC was nice and shiny, desktop was nice also but I had big troubles in controlling stuff, I'm using windows for ~18years and this experience with mac lowered my working speed and producitivity.
Even not talking about that shit magic mouse which is terrible in hand compared with simple logitech mouses..
Also when you have MAC you need to buy VPS server to run your SEO tools there because on your mac you cant do anything like this.
IF you not designer or some musician or video editor mac isnt best choice.

These are my points:
  • Are most of your SEO or other software tools Windows only? Stick with a PC.
  • Do you want to switch to the Mac OS? Build a Hackintosh.
  • Do you want a Mac just because it's a Mac? Get a Mac.
  • Do you hate Windows but not want a Mac? Get Linux*.
I personally use a Hackintosh. The Mac OS is much better for my main line of work - development (and I reckon it's better and more stable all round), but the hardware is such a waste of money. If you are going to need Windows for programs like Scrapebox, then might as well build your own PC and stick with Windows. I use Mac OSX as my main OS, and boot to a Windows or Linux OS if I need to do OS specific stuff (like compile a program in Visual Studio). I've built all my own SEO tools so I can run them on any platform.

I started as a Mac hater, now I love the OS. I'd never buy an actual Mac though.

*Linux can also run a fair amount of Windows software using WINE

What SEO tools do you plan to use? I'd just use a VPS, I prefer Mac due to the sleek design and ease of use. Don't forget less viruses ;)

Build a hackintosh. And dual boot with Windows & MacOS. You can also install Linux. Its better than both of them

For many years, I've been a PC/laptop Windows user. I've used quite a few brands, namely IBM, Dell, Acer, ASUS, HP, Lenovo.

I got a MacBook Pro as part of a promo bundle a few years ago when I signed up for a 24-months contract for a new broadband line. It was nice to work with but I ended up selling it away to buy an ASUS laptop with much better specs. (The ASUS laptop was great till it had plenty of issues.)

In my opinion, PC is better to work with as many IM software are Windows-based. Another plus point for PC is that there are plenty of software that you can use to enhance your productivity when you are working online.

If you are looking for a Windows PC or laptop, go for Dell. They have very good support. Don't go for ASUS or Acer simply because their support is shit!

Is this even a question.

PC can run most stuff Mac can with some simple programs

IMac and also have a old laptop running linux. I Agree macs are highly overpriced and a PC can do the same job, but what I love about my iMac... it's a late 2009 and it's still working with the newest software and OS.
