MAC Makeup?

I just stumbled across this thread and I'm speechless. I have absolutely no idea wtf is going on here.

So let me get this straight, there's money to be made selling makeup? Where are you selling it, ebay?

If you are a licensed makeup artist or are in the beauty industry with proof of your license MAC gives you 35-40% off everything you buy.

: )

I have connects myself ...

I'd like some details on this as well if anyone has it.

Lots of people make mineral makeup from MAC pigments and then sell them at great profit. Could be worth looking into as making that stuff is super-easy. No wholesaler required.

Most people actually pay for the brand MAC not the pigment = )

Label is everything

where can you get pigments from? and the base also? and how easy is this?
thanks

You can buy the new 4.5g MAC pigments directly from MAC, or buy them from eBay (in both 4.5g and 7.5g quantities). Just check their feedback to see if they've sold a ton of MAC pigments first. You can get lots of discontinued pigments that way also. FYI: Pigment doesn't really expire.

Pigments are useful for making blushes and eyeshadows,

Making makeup is usually dead-easy. I have taken classes on how to make lip balms etc -- mineral makeup is mostly just mixing in a sterile bowl with sterile instruments.

There's a good tutorial on making the basic face powder here. Eyeshadow tutorial here.

Mineral makeup has been hot because not only is it good for your skin, looks great, and lots of times is not noticeable. But ALSO because you can easily create subtle or dramatic designs with it.

You can get the tubs etc wholesale either in the US or overseas (or eBay). Be sure to do a good rinse before filling. You want either clear containers or with a top you can see through.

Oh, and also wear a mask while making it so you don't inhale the fine powders. =)

i don't see how this would work, where I live MAC has a webstore where you can buy anything direct and get free shipping with no minimum order. worldwide orders are free if over $100.

even if you had a 40% discount, after payment processing/ebay/advertising and shipping fees wouldn't your margin of profit be around the 5% range at best? unless you made your own out of their pigments.

also I used to work for ebay as a chat rep. I saw multiple limited accounts in chat sessions with users crying MAC shut them down for unauthorized retailing on a daily basis. they, like designer bag companies hire law firms that spiders ebay for millions of suspicious keywords then ebay yanks your account without any appeal.
