The new presets at M. Samurai are set at Keyword Research-Broad, all Dr Fernando's tutorials on KW research are always Broad match.

But every time I ask colleagues in all the forums about this matter, all choosing "Exact"
What is your opinion and what are your settings for KW analysis if they are different than the Golden Rules or Long Tail presets?

Thank you

And what about SEOC and SEOT are you using with Exact, please?

Depends, if your niche is full of Desperate buyers you'd happy even with SEOT of 50 but if the niche isn't just that good then even a SEOT of 100 will suffer. And I always go for "Exact" Matches as this tells me exact phrases brig searched and not the Google generated jumbled phrases. ;) and SEOC is not alone a count of competition. I rather check the number of pages which Google thinks are relevant to the keyword (Search the keyword in quotes, append &start=990 and then it tells the number of relevant pages. Incase it is below 400, it easy to get to the #1) :)

I never choose my keyword volume based on broad match.

I always go by the [exact match] number.

If the [exact match] volume is <20 per day, I cross check the "phrase match" volume and if that's decent, then i still choose that k/w.

Regarding competition, i completely ignore the SEOC score.

The only 3 things i check in competitive research is PR, BLP, BLD

Well if you are targeting micro niche, then i advice you to go for exact phrase only. I consider watching PBR then SEOC and SEOT. Choose your niche wisely. If you are confused then you goto google.com/prodcuts too find something pretty interesting.....

Hope this helps.
