I have just finished a pretty sweet website for music lyrics.
The layout is very very clean and minimal ads and there are over 100,000 songs added to the lyrics database. But now that I've come this far, I'm stumped on how to advertise it other than just submittin to search engines. For forum and media sites the easy answer is xrumer and youtube traffic, but for this I'm unsure of where to start, any ideas?
Thanks.

juzfairy right, link building, make social bookmark, make news and RSS channel, submit to catalogs. This is 2-3 month of hard, stupid job.

try piqqus and get stumbleupon, digg and other a/c's so that you can exchange the ratings and points between users by which you could get a fair traffic within a week or two...my kind advice please don't ever try advertising your sites with adwords, they just rip you leave away that's one bad quality traffic you get to your site..

If I were you, I would use social bookmarking sites, link building with blogs, and YouTube promotion. I know some good softwares for all of those, if you want to know them send me a PM

like daffy said, try piqqus. That site rocks.

Lol i dont see how this has anything to do with copyright considering your hooking up lyrics for a website...Would be interested to hear your story autoglass...

Yes please do share, I too don't see how lyrics would bring up a copyright issue, unless it was the only site in existence in 1996 @_@

yeah...unfortunately we can't uniqueify the lyrics and try something else...

I have a question?:(

the lyrics are same for everyone, I mean we cant make them something that they are not...so why there is a copyright issue arising??

Well at the time I was running a web site for a Hip-Hop radio station, and the cease and decist was due to copywrite violations stating that I had mis used their content and was attempting to profit from it, which was total BS I had it there so listeneres could lookup lyrics and I thought it was cool. Lol and I owned the web site not the radio station.. it really pissed me off becuase we were getting tons of new lyrics added every day, etc.. the guy who's site i was hosting for him on a subdomain ended up putting it on an overseas server...

LOL it was some "urban" label , last thing i need is some gansta rapper popping a cap in my ass..

Well, the I guess we goto use the rewiter plugin/ Cafinated C, so as to make the lyrics unique..*what rubbish am I talking*!!:chairshot

Post music videos and then in the description have the lyrics to the song and a link to your site?

lyrics sites are quasi legal but you probably won't get much attention unless you have over 400,000 db entries.. i have 170,000 currently on mine. the sites with the most out there have 800,000+ and while there are programs to rip entries to a db, that's going to take forever if you attempt it on 700,000 lyrics.

good luck, I'm monetized with adsense and itunes and ringtone referrals

Thanks, and yea I have about 450,000 lyrics, yet I haven't submitted to any SE's or done anything at all to promote so my traffic is almost zero. With over 450,000 pages on the site I was wondering if there is a bulk way to submit them all at once to SE's?
