Hey guys! I am Luis, a 32-year-old freelance writer, web designer and budding Internet marketer from the Philippines. I quit my day job in 2009 and since then, I've been trying to make a consistent online income. I've made several affiliate commissions from a few blogs and websites, but they're nothing to write home about. Lately, I'm earning a few dollars from CloudCrowd writing and editing articles, which earned me $800+ since November 2012. Some days they don't have any work that's worth my effort, so I'm planning to start a website and get freelance writing clients myself.

I also create websites for several local clients. I charged $100 for custom-built websites which was a huge mistake because I now have stingy clients who expect me to do major revisions for a pittance. So I'm now closing my doors to web design clients in order to concentrate on freelance writing and Internet marketing.

    My Goals for 2013

I'm glad that the world didn't end so I still have the chance to become rich. My goal for 2013 is to earn $100,000 in profits for the whole year. Yes, I know that I sound too ambitious and people may say that I have unrealistic goals, but I've always been an ambitious person who dream of becoming a billionaire one day. Nevertheless, I will work hard and smart to achieve this goal. With the money, I plan to build my own house because I'm ashamed to still be living with my parents at such an advanced age. LOL.

What I Will Do To Achieve My Goals

To achieve my lofty goals, I will work on a combination of freelance writing, blogging, affiliate marketing, and email marketing. I'm already adept in freelance writing and blogging, so need to learn more about affiliate marketing and email marketing. I have plans for several authority sites and have set up a few, but they lacked promotion and SEO so they don't see much traffic.

Here are the websites that I'm working on:

    • Freelance writing site = Get clients and earn money from freelance writing projects. The money will help bankroll my IM projects.
    • Web hosting review site = Tough niche, but I earned $200+ from it this year. I'm planning to revamp the site and drive more traffic.
    • Giveaways and freebies site = About 1000 UV per month. Labor-intensive so I'm planning to hire an outsourcer to post freebies on it regularly. Earned about $20 from Adsense and CPA.
    • Local travel information site = Easy to rank in this niche since the competition is weak except for one old-ass authority site which I think I can beat for certain keywords. No content yet.
    • Home remedies site = Didn't actually plan to enter this niche but I accidentally stumbled on an expired domain with tons of backlinks so I bought it. No content yet.
    • Make money online blog = Oh no! Another MMO blog! I don't care if there are lots of MMO blogs but I plan to stand out with my unique and entertaining way of writing.

So basically, I will earn money from freelance writing and then use a portion of the profits to bankroll my Internet marketing projects. Aside from the websites listed above, I am planning to create small websites to promote affiliate products and services. I know how to create websites and write good content, so I need to focus more on traffic generation and SEO. I will also build a mailing list from my websites by enticing visitors to subscribe using a free ebook or any valuable freebie.

I have to admit that I'm a fairly lazy guy. I have to change my habits for the better. So instead of waking up at 10 AM, I need to sleep early and wake up at 7 or 8 AM. I'm also fairly addicted to the computer. I need to set a limit of 6-8 hours of work per day. Then for exercise, I plan to start jogging next month. There's no turning back for me now. :)

My starting budget is $200 which was part of the money I earned from CloudCrowd. On January 1, 2013, I will post my first entry. I'll try my best to post everyday. Then every end of the month, I will post my monthly earning summary. Wish me luck guys and thanks for reading!

Hello guys. Sorry for not fulfilling my promise to post on the first of January. Aside from the New Year hangover, I had colds and cough so I took a much-needed rest.

I am planning to renovate my bedroom "office" to help improve my productivity. I feel that my old office setup is not very conducive to my daily work. I'm using a cheap and unstable computer table like the one you usually see in Internet shops. So I bought a wooden office table for about $70. I will spend the weekend renovating and cleaning my office to make it look more "professional." I will post the before and after pictures as soon as I'm finished with the renovation.

So stay tuned for the future details!

Hey guys... I'm back. I have finished with my office renovation and I can already feel the massive difference in my motivation and productivity compared to the old setup. Unfortunately, I cannot post pictures yet because of my account limitations.

I intend to continue with this thread until the end of the year (or maybe beyond). I may not be able to post everyday but I will make it a point to summarize my activities and accomplishments as often as I can. I will also post my weekly and monthly earnings. I intend to treat this thread and my thread followers as my "accountability partners" in my quest to achieve that $100,000 goal.

The money I earned from last month has been slowly dwindling, so I'm planning to resume freelance writing. This time, I will launch my own freelance writing website and get clients from the Warrior Forum. I initially thought about applying for jobs at freelancing sites such as Elance or Freelancer.com, but I prefer to set my own rates and get paid in advance. While I'm setting up my freelance writing website and writing my Warrior for Hire thread, I will also try to earn some money from CloudCrowd.
