I have OBE's. Moss is one of the better authors for lucid dreaming. The easiest way to have an OBE is to take a nap mid day, wake up around 8, stay up for a couple of hours, eat lightly, no crazy videos or anything that uses up energy (emotional energy is the same energy for attention, learn to conserve it). Lastly, before going to sleep, lay down, and visualize a glow around the body.
Inhale the glow into your body and watch it fill it up. You want to be able to have a glowing double surrounding your body, 1 inch away from the skin. Breathe for a few moments, and try to feel the extra layer of embodiment right near your own skin.
Next, visualize yourself in the POV of the double, getting up and out of your body. Float over to the wall, and feel it's texture. Go around the room and feel different TEXTURES, tactile sensation is the key to transplanting one's awareness away from the meat-body. After about 5 minutes of this, go back to your body, and reabsorb into it. Go to sleep, and you should pop right out as soon as you fall asleep.
I used to counsel other's with their uncontrollable experiences. Let me know when you get to the Guardian of the Threshold!
If you're all about conscious out of body exit and traveling, you can't do better than Moss and the Monroe Institute's Wave series that uses binaural beats to enduce brain synchronization.
