Hey,

I have a website that has a 95% bounce rate (before you go on saying OMG thats soo high, your content must be garbage) the keywords I am going after are answered with a simple yes, or no. (therefore people hit my page, see the answer, leave)

I was wondering if there is a way to lower the bounce rate so that google thnks the people are staying on my site for longer periods of time. (would something like an auto refresh after 10s or something like that work?) -- keep in mind I have google ads

Thanks in advance.

Why not create something that prolongs getting the answer they want? You can make your site like a puzzle and they can piece together clues to find out the answer or something. Get creative, or just buy high quality traffic (you might want to remove Google Ads then).

if i prolong it they will just hit the back button, and go to the next site..

I don't want to do anything that would make me have to remove the ads.

apart from yes or not ...put a guide in the side bar (one click able banner) hovering around that question...and they will go to that page and ask them to subscribe from there.or they

Ye, its easy, you just get a new design and try to use Heatmaps to learn what your customers are afraid of

- Check if your keywords and/or visitor entrances are really related to your niche.
- Try to improve your design a bit.. if its yes/no just make it better looking and you will see.
- Use claims and call to actions. Maybe some testimonials etc.
- Experiment. Make few changes and measure them with A/B tests.

Good luck.

Reduce your bounce rate by half with a very simple "click here to get your answer" and bring them to another page within your site. Assuming everyone clicks you will get a 50% reduction in your bounce.

average time on site is something different, the way to get around this one, is a simple countdown clock set randomly which makes them wait for their answer "please wait while we find your answer"

1) Make your site easy to read. Instead of paragraphs of text have checklists, bullets, infographics, and illustrations.

2) You said your website is a simple yes or no question. Right after they read the answer on your site, have a link to other related questions. For example, if the question was "should I change my car's oil after 4,000 miles", after the answer "Yes", have a link saying "See what else you need to do to your car after 4,000 miles" or something like "see what happens if you don't change your car's oil every 4,000 miles".

3) Find related videos and media.

Add a video with good thumbnail that makes people curious and maybe click play. Worked for me anyway :)
