After analyzing the report, I realized that my CPC is 50% lower than the previous period of the last year.
But the performance of my channel is almost identical with the last year.
So there should be no reason for 50% decrease of CPC.
Anybody has the same issue here?
I remember the minor excitement last year when the new boss Susan Wojcicki was chosen for Youtube.
She is considered as a really capable person in the advertisement industry with the connection with big time advertisers and people were expecting her to raise the overall ad earnings for Youtube videos, video creators and channel owners.
And now after 14 months of her reign, the money for people like us got even lower, it seems.
I compared various parameters between this year (January to March) and the last year (January to March) and it shows that my channel has been showing the almost identical performance between them yet the CPC is 50% lower this year.
So it appears to be (at least for my channel) that Susan Wojcicki is doing just a terrible job for people like us (i.e. who's making part time or full time income from Youtube.).
But I would like to hear whether you guys are experiencing the same situation.
How's your CPC compared to the same period of the last year?

For the past 30 days, my CPC has averaged .0379. This time last year I was averaging a .0422.

My bigger issue is that my CTR has dropped significantly.

These problems combine to form an RPM that's 1/3 of what I was earning last year? and it has basically been this way since Christmas.

My views have grown by leaps and bounds in that time, but my income has yet to follow.

I'm at a loss of what to do at this point.

Wow, getting 1/3 of RPM from last year?
I'm really sorry to hear that.
I am getting 1/2 of RPM than last year and thought that was terrible but I cannot even imagine your frustration!!
WTF is this new CEO doing to us?
Yeah, also my income has been basically this way since last Christmas.
And just like you, my channel has grown substantially.
My channel is much bigger now compared to the last year's size.
Given my channel's current standing, I should make much more money!
Like you, I am completely at a loss of this unbelievable situation.
Whatever this new CEO is doing, that just ruins us video creators/channel owners financially!

She is doing her job, making more money for YouTube and taking it away from publishers. You can try t oswitch over to pushing amazon ads as this is easy money.

Pushing Amazon ad?
How do you do that?
I don't remember seeing Amazon ad on Youtube videos?
Are you talking about something outside of Youtube?
Also, you got that right that she's making money for Youtube while taking it away from the publishers.
That is really shitty attitude because if any competitor enters the market, the publishers would abandon Youtube like some disease.
What comes around, goes around.
She will pay for the price of ripping off the publishers.

I understand you 100%.

Back in early 2014, when my channel was less popular as it is now, I consistantly had over 0.06 CPC.

I've looked at my last two months which actually have more views and retention, and my CPC is 0.0335.

My overall income is also close to nothing compared to what it was. In 2013, I had about 25,000 views, and earned two google adsense checks of 100 USD each.

Since then, I've only received one check and have had over 120,000 views. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I will admit, I haven't been active with posting at all, despite my view count going up.

I'm still earning monthly checks without a problem, but I'm also averaging between 700k-1M views a month (apposed to the 200k I was last year). My issue is that if I were earning anywhere close to what I was per click (and getting a similar percentage of clicks), I would be receiving close to double what I am now.

Sure, it's nice getting another $400-500 a month, but the expected thousand would be a lot nicer.
