I've seen a few of these services ranking very well. Things like:

newyorkchiropractor.create-your-own-website.com - ranking well for new york chiropractor (just as an example).

Is anyone aware of any service like these that will let me create multiple sites (sub domains) for a low cost?

UK or US hosted.

Thanks.

The other thing I'll add is that I'm looking for NON BLOG only. I want to be able to have plain looking pages (and small 3 page sites :).

Just buy a generic $10 domain and get hosting. 99% of hosts out there let you create unlimited subdomains. You can set up any type of site you want it doesn't have to be a blog.

do a search for joomla multisites - cant recall who develops this, but like maestro said once you get a domain you can create a ton of subdomains.

if you deploy the joomla multisite script on these domains you can then control all the content from one joomla installation

also if you look at this post
Code:
http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/white-hat-seo/46723-heads-up-new-script-geo-targeted-keywords.html

the script i am writing will generate these geo-location + keyword lists like your "newyorkchiropractor" for you within a set radius of a given zip code at the click of a button...

For example this is the output for all the citiy names within a 5 mile radius of zip code 10001 with your chiropractor added on the end as a suffix:

Astoria Chiropractor
Brooklyn Chiropractor
Cliffside Park Chiropractor
Fairview Chiropractor
Hoboken Chiropractor
Jersey City Chiropractor
Long Island City Chiropractor
New York Chiropractor
North Bergen Chiropractor
Secaucus Chiropractor
Union City Chiropractor
Weehawken Chiropractor
West New York Chiropractor

which then can help you set up your sub domains, and also create content, etc, etc

Jeeze guys, thanks for the explanations of how to create sub domains on my own hosting account.

I'm looking to take advantage of the "authority" those 3rd party sites have (which saves money on link building). And to have multiple IPs.
