So I've been hittin Facebook ads lately, never really had a problem with my lower bids. I'm doing Newsfeed ads only, Desktop computers - USA, Female. Problem is, volume. I'm spending like 5-10% (if that) of the allowed limit. This was never a problem in say November, through early March. I know Facebook updated the Fanpage reach to where people are seeing under 5% reach. But did they also roll something out for newsfeed ads?

....I also ran a test on right side ads, it used up my budget but the conversion rate sucks compared to newsfeed ads and post engagement costs to much for external clicks with people liking, sharing and posting comments.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

I see alot of posts about Facebook fanpages having problems, but not many regarding Newsfeed ads for Facebook Agency accounts...

Cpc-s been UP past week - mostly in US. Nothing to worry, they will get down eventually.

Im having exactly the same problem, on multiple agency and personal accounts. But not only for US, its the same for CA and AU as well. Ive tried everything i can think of to make it run again but nothing works, except setting ridiculously high CPCs. We can just hope it starts running on profitable CPCs soon.

weissweissweiss i sent you skype request

Im also having the same problems with news feed ads, working great over the weekend and now suddenly not receiving any traffic or little traffic

Glad to see I'm not the only one having this issue. Traffic has basically stopped for me. Created two ads 24 hours ago nearly identical to the ones i've been running for months and still no reach, impressions, etc on either. Very frustrating.

Maybe FB has introduced some kind of detection system for affiliate type ads? If this was a widespread issue im thinking there would be atleast a news article out there about it, but there is nothing. Otherwise, it probably has something to do with their recent restructuring of the ad system. Anyone tried running a completely clean ad like teespring to the same interest?

Im still receiving other affiliate ads in my news feed so that cant be the reason

I agree. My newsfeed and RHS is full of affiliate ads. I read on another post that this is a known bug that started when they launched the redesigned interface. Hopefully it will get back to "normal". Whatever normal is...:D

just changed my bidding to CPM to test and I suddenly started receiving 1000s of impressions, but hardly any clicks weirdly enough. My ctr is normally between 1.5-3% and now wit CPM bidding its at 0.1-0.5 wtf...never had that with newsfeed ads and CPM, the CTR usually stays around the same

CTR usually is lower for CPM. CPC ads get better placements.

Doubtful, otherwise they would ban the ads. I'm sure none of us direct link anyway. But personally, the companies worth billions and im sure they know when people cloak. It's not that hard to setup a non-datacenter IP and check an ad to find out if its cloaking or not. Keep in mind when I run right side ads I don't have this problem (but doesnt convert). It's not a supply vs demand issue imo... It must be an algo update. ............But I'd think Facebook needs affiliate marketers to keep things profitable and shareholders happy. I've personally spent $5k+ a day for months, and given 1000 people did this that's alot of $ to just cut out. So I think they allow it, then "ban the accounts" after a while to avoid FTC complaints, etc. But yeah this lack of volume now is some sort of issue that's hurtin both us and Facebook imo...

No doubt - so am I. But the ads I see are from the pages I've personally liked (my competitors). I'm not getting served any new ads, or correction I am but not as much.

I heard of this 'bug', but seriously this is rather eff'd and hopefully ends soon. I don't see how a bug can still deliver traffic but only with higher cpc's (sounds like an algo update) otherwise if it was a bug, they wouldnt deliver at all...

CPM and Optimized never worked for me. If I went the CPM route you get 1000s of shitty impressions (as you said) with little to no clicks. CPC gives Facebook an incentive to make sure people click (higher placed ads), CPM they get paid anyway... So why not put your ad at the bottom? ........As for optimized, I've done this and my bids that usually yield external clicks under $1, end up resulting in $3-$4 CPC's which just isn't profitable... So I stay away from that. MY CTR though is usually .6-1.0% with my $ ads.

CTR usually is lower for CPM. CPC ads get better placements.

Yep

Whats strange is that alot of people are not affected and advertise as normal. Two of my Affiliate Managers told me their high volume FB guys are running as normal. I've personally tried on around 7 different agency accounts, USA and Indian, from 3 different suppliers and couldn't get it to run as before. This is why i think there might be some new detection system or something. Do you guys run safe ads for a few days on your accounts before running the the $$$ ads? I just got a brand new agency account and I'm trying to use a new VPS, new host, new everything + ill run safe ads for a few days and let it bill my card a few times before running the money ads.

I think those people are lying, especially the affiliate managers so that people like us don't give up hope and keep trying. At anyone time I have between 5-10 agency accounts going (7 now) and I'm spending 5-10% of the allowed budget. Accounts are diverse from multiple providers and countries too. I think your right with the new detection system, that or they wanna minimize newsfeed ads. Maybe it's back it right side stuff?

i usuall go money anytime from immediately up to a few days

Personally I think they are just tweaking/modifying their system. I've been trying different things the past couple of days and one thing that I've noticed is that the CPC suggested bid price for the ads I have running keeps bouncing around drastically. For example for one ad I have the suggested CPC bid price has always been between .06-.09, but last night I checked and it had changed to .28-.38. This morning,.. it's back to .07-.09. Hopefully this is just coincidental stuff as a result of FB making interface/system changes and we will be back to normal soon.

I guess its back to testing with RHS until a solution is found or it gets back to normal by itself. Just read this awesome news last night

yep. Bans happen more frequent for me tho when going right side. Don't like the idea of that link tho..

I read it myself as well. This is a huge news for advertiser. Would greatly increase the CTR and conversion.

yeah but since your taking up more space, be prepared to pay 2-3x the minimum bid probably??? It's always worth testing but that's my 02

your a lucky man... Must be doing men, right side or outside the USA. I'm spending $3-$4 per website click.

I should have been more specific, that is just what their "suggested" bid is. This is on RHS ads. I've tried the max, double the max, and now I'm tripling their suggested CPC bid price and I'm still not getting any traffic. I am getting a little on newsfeed ads now but it's certainly not cheap. I have to bid more than they suggest here too.
