When it comes to making money, not everything has to be blackhat. Here I'm going to point out something that I think people can make good money off of, and that is coming soon.

    May 18, 2012

Social networking giant Facebook has their IPO. But it was tragic first day, where the share value dropped considerably, dipping below $30. In the first few weeks after the IPO, Facebook stock dropped even past $20. It looked like a tanker.

    Today, October 5, 2013

Facebook stock is above $51 per share, and gained nearly 4% yesterday on a good market day.

So thanks for the history lesson right?
Well any educated person knows the main reason behind learning history is because history tends to repeat itself.
(See Bonaparte and Hitler, invading Russia during winter)

Twitter's about to go public. If you thought Facebook had potential to grow after their IPO, then Twitter has a chance to skyrocket. They've recently landed massive TV deals, and are constantly developing dynamic ways to implement ads on their site.

I would strongly suggest you monitor Twitter's IPO, and if it has an initial drop, or doesn't start out strong, I'd hop on and hold 2-3 years, just to see what happens. If you've got $1,000, $2,000, or some spare cash, it looks to be a solid investment long term.

Also as Instagram may be approaching monetization, Facebook stock could have even more potential to rise. And now is the time to buy retail funds and ETFs, as they are particularly bullish around the holiday season, and right afterward, January/February, is the best time to hop on some bear shares/ETFs.

REMEMBER, I'm not saying to buy Twitter stock the morning of the IPO, but do some research, and monitor it the first month after its release, as there may be some potential. I've done far more research into it than I've shown here, and that's why I'll be monitoring it. Do some of your own research obviously as well.

Also note yesterday, the stock TWTRQ was mistaken for the stock Twitter. A bunch of idiot wall street quickshooters bought loads of this stock, and it rose 1500% yesterday! This has nothing to do with Twitter's IPO, just a fun fact. It may actually have been a genius pump and dump scheme

(No I was not paid by Twitter to promote their IPO)

    • Thanks Thanks x 1

Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Just because FB recovered does not prove TWTR will, or how long it might take. FB recovered during a strong year for the stock market. If the stock market crashes, it might take many stocks down with it, including FB, TWTR, etc.

I've done research far greater into Twitter than what I explained. And there are other stocks/ETFs I'll be investing into soon because of many other circumstances. You obviously need to do a lot more research on your own before you buy.

I'm not saying to buy at the IPO, but monitor it and look for a good opportunity.

I'm really thinking about investing, also have read about GSVC being possibility to pre-invest into TWTR. Could you PM me or navigate me to some good discussions, analysis and research? I'm lurking a lot but I think you are more experienced in this.

    Stocks go up and down
I think your advice is very good
Twitter is looking strong, In fact as a stock I prefer it to FB
that's only my opinion of course.
Of course it all depends on the opening price

I like TWTR over FB for sure because I feel that they don't have such a massive expectation like Facebook did when it went public. Facebook is the worlds second most visited site so it was extremely overhyped on what its stock would do and I feel that contributed to the initial drop.

I'll be watching Twitter like you said. I'd love if it somehow manage to turn into TSLA

There's no "hidden" guide, the internet is a big place, there aren't any big secrets you have to discover, you just need to learn about trading in general to understand what about the IPO makes Twitter a good buy.

Twitter will make money to the early birds there's no doubt about it, but in my opinion it will be like Facebook, where there's no margin to grow that fast so it crashed.

As you explained OP they picked up, but don't forget it's all related to what they have bought from other companies, everytime they expand they get a rising market value because the asset grows (if they have bought it the right way).

A bit in the shadow of Facebook at first but don't forget about Zynga too, they are in the money too.

    Cheers

    MONITOR the IPO
    MONITOR
    MONITOR
    MONITOR
Remember I'm just suggesting you closely monitor their IPO, I don't think it will drop quite like Facebook's, but if it tends to follow a similar pattern there is potential.

There's definitely a longterm value play here. Just pay attention to the ipo, get in at a price you're comfortable with, sit back and enjoy the ride.

so you suggest to wait and monitor that ipo rather than buying it at lowest? like: "Never buy on an IPO. Wait for the stock to prove itself through trading patterns and consolidations" well I've been kinda trading with BTC and I don't like trading when it's stable, I got better things to do, I was just thinking on buying rocketing twtr at the gate

Okay buy the stock at its lowest point, which is exactly when?
No one can predict the best time to predict TWTR, you monitor the stock, do your research, and you'll have a better idea of when to buy it as it runs its course.

Well I don't know, is it going to be overpriced at the gate? Ok they when everybody will pump that sure it will rockethigh (so a good buy is anything before, if one is such fast hand) BUT then everybody gonna dump so it may drop some red candles well and there might be the potential. The lowest drop, idk may it happen that day? OK, that's why I decided to wait to see the top low (yes it can be even lower but srsly who knows), yes I could wait even more to see if trends will proof (but I'm not that skilled in trading), I'd like to participate in pump dump action (like happened several times with btc) I kinda thought about watching other stocks like if gsvc invest in it OR if sina weibo lina kakao stocks are dropping or not. So many factors and even news that manipulate with those numbers, dayum.
