Ive been promoting my vids on reddit and im getting a good amount of views but they watching on average 15% of the video. Its this a normal amount for reddit or is it my content that is the problem?

Reddit traffic is notorious for being low-retention, especially from /r/videos. Unless you are posting in very specific subreddits related to your niche.
So yes, low retention from Reddit is normal. The retention from suggested video traffic within YouTube is where you need to really pay attention.

how long your videos are in average? on what niche? is it related to the subreddit you post in?

music niche and vlog niche. I usally post in the reddit that is what the video is about. Ive gotten around 200-400 views on each video. Thats all from my fans and reddit post. But when i check analytics im getting almost none recomendation
