Low morale.

Hey guys how do you deal with low morale in the blogging industry? I just feel like throwing everything down and stop blogging. I feel like I am spending a ton shit of money without any ROI in the near future and as a result, my morale is very low. I still have a passion for blogging and I did not start it for money alone. How does someone goes about this? Would appreciate all answers and critiques.

Moral is important, knowledge is more important. You have to go with keyword research and SEO guidelines.

If you do not have interest in blogging, stop it. There are other ways to make money. Do something you enjoy.

Honestly, my trick is to write articles I'll be proud to share, and buy articles I'm excited to read. My blog is not making me crazy amounts of money, but I enjoy every second I work on it.

Put work into your articles. Make them something you cared about writing.

Start making videos that are about the article you wrote.

Custom images as well. Super easy to do with Photoshop. Your readers will notice the work you put in.

It is boring to write articles. Try to mix with other work like video creation.

Well, its really when I see the successes (big or small) that I really get motivated. Then I use those successes to push forward when I am writing content that isn't going to show any benefits for 2-3 months. So if you have had success in what you are doing, draw on that for motivation. If you have not yet found much success with what you are doing, then your motivation should be the finding of that success.

Go and search up some of your competitors. Get a tool like ahrefs (which is invaluable in my opinion) and find sites as similar as possible to yours, that are getting some level of success - then you know and can see whats possible. that becomes your motivation - if they can do it then you can do it, work towards that until you succeed.

Content creation can be a very challenging task and in your case its testing your patience, I suggest find a few keywords that can help you rank and get traffic and make sure your content quality is top notch only then you will get to see some returns. Lastly, just hang in there as long as you are enjoying blogging and writing you will soon see the fruit your blog gets you.

Start reading find find a book and start investing some time reading it

Blogging is one of the hardest ways to make money in 2022.

It's not "dead", but if you're going to call something dead in 2022, you could say it's blogging.

Blogging was big in the early 2010's..

Then came YouTube, which is still huge, but we've gone even MORE extreme now with tiktok.

People have no attention span.

YouTube videos are easier to digest, but guess what.. Even that's too much for the masses now.

They want BITE sized videos. Even YouTube is pushing YouTube Shorts because of this trend.

So you're really in a shrinking market.

People learn and consume with videos.

SEO is significantly more competitive than it used to be.

Amazon associates is complete garbage now.

And to top it off the blogging world is DOMINATED by big media these days.

This was NOT the case in 2015, and definitely not in 2010 when you could step into ANY niche with very little competition.

3 paragraphs and a text list of 5 TV's.

I'm not sure what the commissions then were. I believe they were 15% at one point. When I started with Amazon they were volume based up to 8.5%. My first amazon site was a 5 page EMD. I wrote the main page and had a cheap writer create 5 support articles. Created some web 2's and expired tumblrs and I was making $1k/mo within about 3 months. Now, to make $1k/mo with amazon.. lol. What a joke. A million words of content. Maybe half a million with some strong SEO. Incredibly unprofitable unless you're willing to sit and write all day long yourself.

Interesting traffic drop in July 2012. Maybe a Panda update hit them, but they recovered in Dec 2012. Lots of Panda updates in 2012. Gosh, I remember Panda when knowing about Panda made you cutting-edge I remember calling up an agency in 2012 to get a job and they were impressed when I talked about Panda. The days before Panda were even more ridiculously easy

Anyway.. For anyone having a go at building a real site, this was the time, and look how he exploded. 71k traffic by Dec 2013.

Blogging is fine if you're really passionate about it and have a niche market, but for a general way to make money it's utter garbage and has been for some time.

There are way way better ways to make money.

Videos and video ads. But doing a consulting based business is the easiest way to make $5k/mo pretty quickly. Being a content creator is a 0.1% make it, the rest don't type of business.

Any business..

Since I'm talking in contrast to blogging, which also isn't a business, but a method of marketing.

Blogging can be used for selling products, services or affiliate marketing.

The same as video.

So what I mean is, whatever you choose to do, look towards video creation(free, regular) and video ads for methods of promotion and growing your business.

But in general, you should make videos, especially short videos, rather than writing in 2022.

The exception is niches, like advanced SEO where you have a highly motivated to learn audience who will read, but even then, videos should still be used.

I think you should find something you enjoy writing about, also work on adding images to your blogs. Create photoshop images, make videos to go with your blog. This is how I make the process enjoyable for myself

It is natural to feel discouraged when your effort isnt showing results, but I am a firm believer in patience and persistence. You have invested a lot of time into what you are currently doing, just because there isn't an immediate payoff doesn't mean that it won't happen in the future. Dont give up. Instead learn and upgrade your skills. Every failure means at least you are learning something.

I understand where you're coming from

But you need to remember that the only way to LOSE IN ANYTHING IS TO QUIT

Pick yourself up and focus on the following:
Figure out what worked and scale that up

Figure out what didn't work and don't do it again. This is how you get better at anything. There's no such thing as a bad day.

This is great. Congrats.

Blogging is tedious... it takes time.
If you're actually doing it, you'll see an ROI.
If you aren't doing it, then nothing is going to happen.
You just need to believe that your work will eventually pay-off.
