Low hashtag impressions what am I doing wrong!!!???

Can someone please explain to me why my hashtag impressions are so low?

I thought I was shadowbanned or something but I used my friends phone to check and see if my content was still visible on hashtags and they are....

I am literally getting like 10-50 impressions ONLY from hashtags that I SHOULD be ranking for.

And I think I post quality content. So what gives? Anyone else going through this?

The fact that you show up for hashtags doesn't mean that you're not shadowbanned. When was the last time you used automation?

Like a month ago

This is what I would do:

1. Unfollow everyone on that account.
2. Find and remove ghost followers.
3. Don't post any hashtags for a week.
4. Do manual actions for a week (like a post, write a few comments, watch stories)

1. What would unfollowing everyone that I'm currently following do exactly?

2. Have you checked my account? I have 27.6k followers. Finding ghost followers without using a possibly banned third party app is next to impossible these days.....

Yes, I've checked your account prior to writing this. Everything is possible, you can do it without spending a penny with the resources available on BHW. I've given you the steps to recover your account and it's up to you whether you want to take them or not. Not sure what's the point of asking for advice if you think you know better.

Are you still no longer using them? I feel like I'm about to stop using them all together as well. This is becoming ridiculous

Yeah i haven't been using them, I'll take a break for about 2 weeks. And test once in a week or so

Ok, so as I dug deeper into the accounts that were following me I realized that a lot of them arent necessarily fake followers but a lot of them are ghost followers and followers that are following more than 1000 accounts. So i am currently on a followers purge. My current goal is get rid of 1000 accounts by the end if the day.

With my luck on this platform im not even sure it will help my engagement rate but I guess it's worth a try ‍

Try using different hashtags, swap them around and see which ones work and if anything changes

I think what I'm currently doing will help. I'm attempting to remove 1k ghost followers by the end of the day.

As far as buying fake followers, that hasn't happened. What I was doing was using automation software for the past 2 years and liking posts from my competitors followers and if they visited my account and liked my content then that's when they'd follow me. The only thing that sucks about this method is im pretty sure a lot of them became ghost followers.

I've posted stories and even made a personal post on my account asking about the lack of engagement, and each person who added their input all said the same things:

"I'm not seeing your posts on my timeline."

"I see your stories sometimes but I never see your posts."

But when I look at my insights on particular posts it almost always says I've reached 1k-2k accounts that are following me. So I'm just going to assume that Instagram is showing my posts to the ghost followers that I'm currently trying to remove.


What pisses me off about all this is if my hypothesis is correct, why TF is Instagram only showing my posts to my ghost followers the most and showing my posts to my active followers the least? Makes ZERO sense

I've definitely been doing that. The issue comes when the results are random.

Example:

I use one set of hashtags one week and receive 957 impressions from it.

I use the SAME set of hashtags a month later on a similar post and receive 5 impressions from it.


Makes ZERO sense
