Low engagement problem

Hi, I have a small account in the car (supercars) niche with 5.2k followers . All followers are real and I follow manually and I use Instagress to follow ( and like). I follow accounts from popular accounts in the same niche. Problem is my engagement is low. When I'm following people I get around 100/130 likes and when I am Unfollowing I often not even reach 100 likes. I do post high quality pictures so I don't think thats the problem either.

I think its not only the image quality that is important but also the content you post. When following/unfollowing I can only advice you (which all others here know) to scrape the users from accounts that do the same as you since the change is 90% sure that those people follow those accounts because they like (super)cars.... It is no use to scrape users from justin bieber since 99% aren't even legally aged to drive a car, hehe!

Use popular hashtags to get more likes, you can use upto 30. Also, check if the account you're following from is legit, i.e, the followers you're following are real or not

I do scrape followers from legit accounts in the same niche. Most have 2 mil+ followers ( like carswithoutlimits). I also use related Hashtags. I will try a few more but i'm not sure there will be any difference. Thanks anyway!

Most people only follow you because you follow them, they are not interested in your content.

I would advice you to stop following and start using likes/comments since if a user follow you they would be interested in your content!

Still looking for tips! engagement is still sh*t account is now on 11k real followers and the engagement is only around 170/250 likes. I use instagress and I follow followers of big legit accounts. Also tried to follow people who liked pictures but the follow back rate is low.

i have low engagement too: 12k, 150 likes average, depending on the post. but if i post a joke, it can get to like 450. however, jokes are not relevant posts for my page.

the really low engagement in my niche is like 50 likes 20k followers. they appear to be legit account - fox news, local radio stations.

also, not all followers are equal. if your follower follows 1000 people, they might not see your post. so those who follow fewer people are better. also, followers have a life span. they can die..

I don't have problems with getting enough likes. However, I do not get enough engagement in comments. I always reply back to anyone. But I seem to only average 5-10 comments. any advice?

I thought at 1.8k followers, 5-10 comments count as good engagement already!

oops, those 5-10 comments include my replies. i was looking at my websta and i just looked at comment numbers. So I guess I'm only getting 5 average comments from users . I see accounts where they get 20+ comments! Where do I find those followers?

Filter out users who have more than ~700 followings. The more followings the less likely they are to see your pictures. People hate spam, especially people who don't have a lot of followings. Keep you post count low. 1-3 spread out per day tops. Carefully pick tags that you can get top post in. Consider using small amount of fake likes to boost your pictures up to top. Try scraping from different locations within, and outside of your niche that may have followers of your demographic. Keep in mind most car pages are scraping the huge pages & even if you love super cars... how many pages do you really need to follow. Ask questions or tell jokes in your captions... the more human you seem the more your followers will want to engage. Create a few fake accounts to like and comment your main page's pictures. People are more likely to join a convo in comments than start one. Be on the lookout for people who are highly active on your page... white-list, and interact their posts. Just a few off the top of my head. Good luck.
