Love This Forum... but

This a great forum with lots of useful information but I just dislike one thing here, it's the avatars.

Going to quote urban dictionary for the definition..

An icon which represents a user in a virtual reality/Internet setting

(I know urban dictionary is crap but I'm not good with words and the author defined the word avatar pretty well in my opinion)

When you have a choices of only 50 avatars or so and 56418 members it can get a little bit messy.

My suggestion is to have only one premade avatar for people without one so when you see that one avatar you will know that the icon isn't representing that one person but instead it just means the person doesn't have an avatar.

This might be a silly thing but it really bothers me when I'm reading a thread and I see like 4 different people with he same icon so I have to go back and read the names.

If you do not have 50 posts or 30 days on the forum, you may still upload one of our standard avatars by clicking here. If you think about it this way, though by the time you have the 50 posts and have been here for 30 days, you are usually at a point were you are ready to start giving ideas back, and then you change your avatar to your own personal avatar and you can feel like you have earned it.

LoL I remember when I joined... I never cared about my avatar and didnt bother looking into it...

However, many times I got confused due to looking at a persons avatar and not name because I did not realize that their was a selection of them available to all. Of course I know better now, just a dumb mistake I made when I joined here...

haha I did the same thing, the amount of times I would be reading a thread and then think hang on I haven't posted in here and then I would realise it was someone with the same avatar.

well its probably because a lot of people might sign up and not be on here that much, if you have 50 posts, and been here for 30 days then they know your 'devoted' or active so you can.. idk i think it makes sense
