Hi. I started sell gift codes on eBay and got few buyers. I sent them gift codes via messages in eBay after that they open a disputes and saying that they don't bought those gift codes because they account was hacked. After few days I lost those disputes. I contacted with PayPal they said that selling gift codes via eBay messages is not protected by PayPal money back. Later I contacted with eBay they said that they will reinvestigate my cases. I have all evidence that I sent them gift cards. Is there any chance I can get back my money?

oh so sorry about your lost bro, but seems your money has been stolen, i wish that Ebay take real action and check the messages but the way you used for delivery the cards are totally wrong and you must search to find the most protected method to delivery gift cards so you dont lose any more money.
i wish you the best of luck

Selling any digital items or codes is not really acceptable on ebay.
You can get away with it for a while maybe if nobody reports you or opens cases, but if someone opens a case on you claiming
they never got it or never made the purchase, you will lose 100% of the time. You need to provide tracking information that proves you
delivered it to them. A screenshot showing you sent them an email unfortunately doesn't fall under "confirmed delivery" by ebay.

When I first started out selling on ebay, I sold discount codes. I sold a lot but then I got 13 open cases and lost all 13 of them and obviously that account was suspended from selling. That was my first lesson I learned on ebay.

If someone opens a case or makes a claim, you just refund them no questions asked because digital codes / digital goods is going to get you suspended.

If there is 1 dispute and you are making good profit with alot of such deals then pay the refund and continue with such bcoz if you do not do so there is also a chance you will loose your PayPal account or ebay account.
This is a business, pay the dispute and continue it if you want.

yeah. there is lots of cheaters in Ebay. People buy staff, they get it, but they will say i didn't get it.
i had one buyer, who got the product in 2 days. About 2 weeks after the buyer sends a message, that the product is broken he explains, there was no time until now to open the package..
I was ok.
I wanted photos, he sends them.
I looked at the pictures carefully and noticed that the product wasn't the same. The buyer himself broke the previous purchased product, what he didn't buy from my.
I told to the eBay, they didn't believe me and i did have to give money back. 60 dollars and the shipping cost and everything else. My profit for each product was 10 dollars. After two weeks, ebay closed my account..
now in this excitement I'm waiting to see if there are any other assholes who want's free staff. Because every buyer has that 180 days money back guarantee and eBay likes buyers so much than sellers.

So i think you have the same case. Free Staff Hug scammers

Yeah... good luck selling digital items with PayPal. Your customers know they can get the code and do chargebacks = free code.

next time use email to send your digital product

Not good to sell ONLY digital goods.

I sell one PDF book for $30. Maybe made $1500 from it. Most buyers 97% are honest and don't complain. Few did on ebay but I send download link in eBay messages and ebay sides with me. Had 1-2 buyers open unauthorized chargeback on paypal saying stolen credit card or whatever. I simply mail them a old news paper first class and give paypal the tracking # and win those chargebacks.

Should add digital content is maybe less than 5% of my business. If you are only selling digital content...it's just asking ebay to ban you sooner or later. Nearly impossible to go more than a few months selling only digital goods

Yes I'm selling digital product and some of my customer open a case in Paypal after they got download link. I alway lose :(

Honestly, I would print them up and put them in a pretty envelope and ship them with insurance.

I remember i got scammed actually on ebay as a buyer for buying a digital item and diden't get refund so idk how they won the cases? weirdd because paypal don't cover digital items

This is how I sell Digital products in my website.
Once a customer purchased a product with paypal, they will not get the product immediately after payment, instead after payment it will return to a page with instructions like, I will ask them to mail me their PayPal email , amount sent, transaction I'd and what product they paid for.
Once they mailed me with the above informations.
I will send them the product.
Now even if they opened dispute. I will show paypal the screenshots of the mails that they send and what I have replied and all conversations.
95% of the time I won the case.
Sorry for my English.

That just make sure they can not open a case with reason: account hacked.
Some guy will open a case with reason: did not get download link.... so how you do next?

That's how it is, when Paypal is involved. Crypto is a better choice for such payments.

No, the email conversations itself enough to prove that you send him the file. I always give a little bonus for feedback. For example if you're selling premium accounts , when you send them the account details. Just tell them if you write a review about us , you will give them something extra. Ask them to send screenshot of the review to the same email. This review is a solid proof for PayPal cases.
